All-India Institute of Medical Sciences was established as an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament with the objects to develop patterns of teaching in Undergraduate and Post-graduate Medical Education in all its branches so as to demonstrate a high standard of Medical Education in India; to bring together in one place educational facilities of the highest order for the training of personnel in all important branches of health activity; and to attain self-sufficiency in Post-graduate Medical Education.

The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first Institute of its kind to be set up at in the State of Bihar in the year 2007. It is an autonomous institution of national importance, established under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt. of India under NIPER Act 1998 at Hajipur in Vaishali District of Bihar.

Ceftazidime in combination with avibactam is a last-line antibiotic, to be used as a targeted therapy for certain carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative infections and not to be used as an empirical therapy. But the antibiotic recently lost its exclusivity and became a generic drug in India. And scientists from ICMR are foreseeing certain potential adverse implications of introducing generic versions of ceftazidime/avibactam into the Indian market.
