Opening for Drugs Controller under Medical Devices Vertical in Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation | 14 vacancies

CDSCO releases regulatory guidelines for sampling of drugs, cosmetics & medical devices by drugs inspectors of central & state drug authorities. As per CDSCO, it will streamline and rationalize the sampling procedure of drugs, cosmetics & medical devices and maintain a centralized monthly database of Not of standard Quality (NSQ) or Spurious drugs to publish on CDSCO.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for appointment to one (01) post of Additional Drugs Controller (I), Group “A”, Gazetted Non-Ministerial in the pay level 13 A (Rs.131100 – 216600) of 7th CPC, four (04) posts of Joint Drugs Controller (I), Group “A”, Gazetted Non-Ministerial in the pay level 13 (Rs.123100 – 215900) of 7th CPC and nine (09) posts of Deputy Drugs Controller (I), Group “A”, Gazetted Non-Ministerial pay level 12 (Rs. 78800 – 209200) of 7th CPC under Medical Devices Vertical in Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi on Deputation (including short-term contract) basis.

Additional Drugs Controller (I)
Pay level : 13 A (Rs.131100 – 216600) of 7th CPC
Eligibility Criteria : Officers under the Central Government or State Government or Union territories Administrators or recognised research institutions or Public Sector Undertakings or recognised University or autonomous or statutory organisations; (a)(i) holding analogous posts on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or ii. with two years’ service rendered after appointment to the post on a regular basis in the Level-13 (Rs.123100-215900) in the Pay Matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; b. Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience:-
Essential qualification : A. (i) Masters degree in Bio Medical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or Bio-Technology or Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering or Polymer Engineering or Computer Science Engineering or Medical Electronics Engineering or Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine with Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology or Bio-Chemistry or Chemistry or Life Sciences from a Recognized University or Institute; (ii) fourteen years’ experience in manufacturing or testing or regulation or designing of medical devices. or (B) (i) Bachelors degree in Bio Medical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or Bio-Technology or Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering or Polymer Engineering or Computer Science Engineering or Medical Electronics Engineering or Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences or Microbiology or Bio-Chemistry or Chemistry or Life Sciences from a recognized University or Institute;
(ii) sixteen years experience in manufacturing or testing or regulation or designing of medical devices.

Desirable : Ph.D in relevant field.
Note 1 : The departmental officers in the feeder category who are in direct line of promotion shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation. Similarly, the deputationist shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment by promotion. Note 2 : Period of deputation including period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization or department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed three years. Note 3 : The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation (including short term contract) shall be not exceeding fifty –six years, as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

Joint Drugs Controller (I)
Pay level : 13 (Rs.123100 – 215900) of 7th CPC
Eligibility Criteria : Officers under Central Government or State Governments or Union territories Administrators or recognised research institutions or Public Sector Undertakings, recognised University or autonomous, statutory organisations; (a) (i) holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or ii. with five years’ service rendered after appointment to the post on a regular basis in the Level-12 (Rs.78800 – 209200) in the pay matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; (b) Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience:-
A. (i) Masters degree in Bio Medical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or Bio-Technology or Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering or Polymer Engineering or Computer Science Engineering or Medical Electronics Engineering or Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine with Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology or Bio-Chemistry or Chemistry or Life Sciences from a recognized University or institute; (ii) twelve years’ experience in manufacturing or testing or regulation or designing of medical devices. or

Eligibility Criteria : Officers under the Central or State Governments or Union territories Administrators or recognised research institutions, Public Sector Undertaking or recognised University or statutory or autonomous organisations; (a)(i) holding analogous posts on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or ii. with five years’ service rendered after appointment in the post on a regular basis in the Level-11 (Rs.67700 – 208700) in the pay matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; (b) Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience :- A. (i) Masters degree in Bio Medical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or Bio-Technology or Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering or Polymer Engineering or Computer Science Engineering or Medical Electronics Engineering or Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine with Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology or Bio-Chemistry or Chemistry or Life Sciences from a recognized University or institute; (ii) eight years’ experience in manufacturing or testing or regulation or designing of medical devices. or B.
