Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, in 1916, through close cooperation with great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was established by the Parliamentary legislation-B.H.U. Act 1915.
Post : Junior Research Fellow
Applications are invited for the one post of Junior Research Fellow with a fellowship amount of Rs.37,000/- +HRA in a Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF)-sponsored project entitled '‘Biochemical and functional characterization of molecular crosstalk and synthesis of extracellular polymers (EPS) for adaptive fitness of cyanobacteria under dynamic environmental stress” (Code no. P-07/1335) sanctioned for duration of three year. The post is temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Essential Qualification : The candidates should be M.Sc. degree in Botany / Applied Microbiology / Environmental Science / Biochemistry / Biotechnology with at least 55 % marks and above. Candidate must have qualified NET or GATE examination.
The upper Age Limit is 28 Years (relaxable for 5 years for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female candidates). All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GOl rules. Candidates with experience of research in the area of the project will be preferred.
Desirable qualifications : The candidates with experience in molecular biology, biopolymer research, biochemical tools and techniques or related field will be preferred.
