National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR-NCL), Pune, established in 1950, is a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Title of the Project :  CHO cell culture engineering for biopharmaceuticals: Insight into cell physiology for cell culture medium formulation

Minimum prescribed educational Qualifications : Candidate will be considered for one of the following levels depending on record and experience.
Research Associate I: PhD (Sc/Engg) in Biotechnology / biochemistry / chemical engineering or allied fields
Research Associate II: PhD (Sc/Engg) in Biotechnology / biochemistry / chemical engineering or allied fields with two years experience
Research Associate III: PhD (Sc/Engg) in Biotechnology / biochemistry / chemical engineering or allied fields with four years experience
Project Scientist: MTech/PhD (Sc/Engg) in Biotechnology / biochemistry / chemical engineering or allied fields submitted with uniformly outstanding academic record and clear potential for high quality R&D work.

Desirable experience, if any : CHO cell culture, Mammalian cell culture, ELISA, glycosylation analysis, molecular biology, HPLC, CRISPR/Cas9 based cell engineering

Age limit* : RA-I/II/III 35 years Project Scientist: 40 years

Job requirement : CHO cell culture engineering for bioprocessing applications

Consolidated emoluments per month : Emoluments depend on the candidates experience RA l/ll/lll: Rs 36000/38000/40000 Project Scientist: Rs 48200.

* Upper age limit is relaxable by five years for SC/ST/Physically handicapped and women candidates and three years in case of OBC (non-creamy layer) applicants.

The engagement will be initially for a period of six months which may be extended or curtailed depending on the duration of the tenure of sponsored project/ satisfactory performance or conduct of the appointee, as the case may be. The engagement will be purely on temporary basis and shall not be CSIR/NCL appointment, temporary or otherwise and shall not entitle the appointee to any right/claim whatsoever, implicit or explicit, for his/her consideration against any CSIR/NCL post/fellowship.

Prepare the application in a given format and scan it. We should receive only one PDF file as an attachment in the given format. Original certificates/mark-list and one copy to be produced at the time of interview.

The prescribed educational qualifications are a bare minimum and merely possessing of same will not entitle candidates to be called for interview. Where number of applications received in response to this Notice of engagement is large, it may not be convenient or possible to interview all the candidates. Based on the recommendation of the Screening Committee, the Project Leader may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to reasonable limits after taking into consideration qualifications and experience over and above the minimum qualifications prescribed in the Notice. Therefore, it will be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all the qualifications and experience in the relevant field at the time of applying.

The candidates recommended by the Screening Committee to be called for interview would be notified on the divisional Notice Board on 18th Sep 2019 or the candidates may ascertain the information by contacting the CE office (Mr Raheja Telephone No. 020-25902620, or Dr Gadgil 020-25902433).

The short listed candidates will be required to appear before the Selection Committee for an interview at CE Division of the Laboratory at 9:30 am on 20th Sept 2019. No interview call letter will be issued separately.

No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview. Selected candidates will have to join duty immediately on receipt of the offer of engagement.
