National Forensic Sciences University, the erstwhile Gujarat Forensic Sciences University is the brain child of Govt of Gujarat. It was established by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modiji, then Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2009 with a sole objective of creating professional experts in the field of Forensic sciences. At a juncture of spiking number of crimes involving sophisticated technologies and much evolved modus operandi, there was a need for scientists and technocrats. Thereby the resolution of such heinous crimes were more diligently possible. This has been prudently considered by the Govt of Gujarat and the university came into existence as a unique and first of its kind academic institution dedicated to Forensic Sciences across the globe.

Essential Qualifications :
Pharmacology : Ph.D. in relevant discipline with first class or equivalent (minimum 60 % or equivalent) at the preceding degree i.e. Master Degree in Pharmacy /Forensic Pharmacy with specialization in Pharmacology or relevant discipline with very good academic record throughout. *For faculty in Pharmacy, the Registration as Pharmacist under Pharmacy Act is mandatory.
Novel Drug Delivery System/ Regulatory Affairs : Ph.D. in relevant discipline with first class or equivalent (minimum 60 %or equivalent) at the preceding degree i.e. Master Degree in Pharmacy /Forensic Pharmacy with specialization in Pharmaceutics/Industrial Pharmacy/ Novel Drug delivery system/Pharmaceutical Technology/ Regulatory Affairs or relevant discipline from recognized university or equivalent with very good academic record throughout.
*For faculty in Pharmacy, the Registration as Pharmacist under Pharmacy Act is mandatory.
Desirable : Candidate having experience in the field of Pharmacy/ Forensic Pharmacy or relevant field.
Forensic Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry : Ph.D. in relevant discipline with first class or equivalent (minimum 60 %or equivalent) at the preceding degree i.e. Master Degree in Pharmacy/Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry/Applied Chemistry or relevant discipline from recognized university or equivalent with very good academic record throughout.
Desirable : Candidate having experience in the field of Analytical Chemistry
Environmental Forensics/ Biotechnology : Ph.D. in relevant discipline with first class or equivalent (minimum 60 %or equivalent) at the preceding degree i.e. Master Degree in Environment Science/ Life Sciences/Biology/Bio-Technology/Chemistry or relevant discipline with Environmental Science as one of the subjects at Master Level from recognized university or equivalent with very good academic record throughout.
Desirable : Candidate having experience in the field of Environmental Forensics, Forensic Science or relevant domain.
The candidate should have demonstrated leadership in research in a specific area of specialization in terms of guidance of Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. students, good record of sponsored research, publications in reputed journals and referred conferences/ patents, laboratory/ course development and/ or other recognized relevant professional activities faculty members are expected to teach courses, carry out research, design and engage in university development and conduct training program and consultancy.
Consolidated Remuneration :
1.) Assistant Professor (Regular remuneration): Consolidated fixed monthly remuneration of Rs. 90,000/- only.
2.) Assistant Professor (Lower remuneration): Consolidated fixed monthly remuneration of Rs. 75,000/- only.
3.) Lecturer: Consolidated fixed monthly remuneration of Rs. 68,000/- only.
Note : Candidates having Ph.D. degree in relevant discipline with minimum first class or 60 % or equivalent at the preceding degree in relevant discipline from recognized university with very good academic record throughout shall be considered for the post of Assistant Professor (contractual) and will be paid consolidated remuneration of Rs 90000/- per month. In case, qualified & suitable candidate are not found for the post of Assistant Professor in any of the disciplines, the University may appoint Contractual Faculty at Lower Remuneration; either as Assistant Professor or Lecturer’s position.
The details of the same are as under :
a.) Candidates having Master degree with minimum first class or 60% or equivalent in relevant discipline from recognized university with very good academic record throughout and qualified NET Exam in relevant branch shall be considered for the post of Assistant Professor-Lower Remuneration (contractual) and will be paid consolidated remuneration of Rs. 75000/- per month
b.) In case the NET exam is not conducted by UGC in the particular desired subject, then the candidates having Master degree with minimum first class or 60% or equivalent at masters’ level in relevant discipline from recognized university with very good academic record throughout shall be considered for the post of Lecturer (contractual) and will be paid consolidated remuneration of Rs 68000/- per month.
c.) Candidates having minimum qualifying degree i.e. Masters Degree with minimum first class or 60% or equivalent at masters level in relevant discipline from recognized university with very good academic record throughout shall be considered for the post of Lecturer (contractual) and will be paid consolidated remuneration of Rs 68000/- per month.
Important Information
1. Candidates appeared for interview, may be considered for lower post if they are otherwise found suitable.
2. Courses offered by autonomous institutions should be equivalent to the relevant course approved/ recognized by Association of Indian University (AIU).
3. The University may conduct screening test before the interview on the same day or one day prior to interview date, if the number of applications are more.
4. The University reserves the right to place the candidate after selection in any of the University campus where the subject specific vacancy exists.
5. Contractual appointment will be for eleven months or till regular appointment is made, whichever is earlier.

Other Terms and conditions :
a) The posts listed below are temporary positions and on contractual basis for 11 months or till the recruitment for the position is filled against the regular vacancy or whichever is earlier.
b) One set of self-attested documents (degree/marksheet /experience certificate etc) should be submitted to the recruitment cell at the time of the Interview.
c) The original certificate(s) must be presented at the time of the interview.
d) Applicants working elsewhere should furnish No Objection Certificate from their employer while appearing for interview.
e) If the applicant is pursuing Full Time Ph.D., he/she must furnish No Objection Certificate and prior approval obtained from Head of Institution.

The courses offered by autonomous institutions should be equivalent to the relevant course approved/recognized by Association of Indian University (AIU).
