  • Require Program Manager at NCBS | Ph.D in Life Sciences

The mandate of research at NCBS is the study of biology. To realize our goals of understanding living systems, we understand that research problems need to be approached from a variety of directions. We therefore have recruited, and actively encourage applications from researchers with a variety of backgrounds in the natural sciences, mathematics and computer science.  Biological problems not only require multiple approaches for their solution, but also need researchers of varied expertise to collaborate. Collaboration at every level within NCBS, within the country and internationally is strongly encouraged. Our research groups are small and with specific strengths that make interactions with complementary groups fruitful.

ADBS is an exciting collaborative and interdisciplinary program which is expected to provide a strong stimulus to research in stem cell biology in India, while building enduring research links between NCBS, inStem and the partner institutions NIMHANS and CiRA, Japan. Key focus areas for this integrated program will be the use of stem cells in research, diagnostics and therapeutics and the creation of a pool of Indian scientists who can work on stem cell technology.

Post : Program Manager (Stem Cell program)

  • Job for Research Scientist at National Centre for Biological Sciences

They are a premier research institute with all the necessary facilities that a research scientist may need. Research interests of their faculty lie in the frontier areas of biology. The talent and drive of their students and faculty continues to show us the way to good science. Research at NCBS (a part of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research) uses experimental and computational approaches to the study of molecules, cells and organisms. They aim to understand biology at each of these levels to advance an integrated view of life processes.

    Post : Team Lead/Research Scientist

  • Opportunity for M.Pharm candidate at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research

The National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) - Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Bangalore, a premier research Centre carrying out frontier research in the biological sciences. NCBS has set up a facility for the development and application of electron microcopy (EM) technology for biology related research. These include EM instrumentation as well as sample preparation facilities.

    Post: Facility Assistant

  • A team of researchers from the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Bangalore, has succeeded in sequencing the genome of Tulsi, a step which will help identify the genes responsible for production of compounds with potential medicinal benefits. The team which included researchers from NCBS, inStem and CCAMP (Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms), all members of the Bangalore Life Sciences Cluster, used five different types of Tulsi, (Ocimum tenuflorium subtype Rama, O. tenuflorium subtype Krishna, O. gratissimum, O. saccharicum and O. kilmund) to collect the genomic data.
