National Centre for Biological Sciences are a premier research institute with all the necessary facilities that a research scientist may need. Research interests of our faculty members lie in the frontier areas of biology, and the science at NCBS (a part of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research) uses experimental and computational approaches in the study of molecules, cells and organisms. We aim to understand biology at each of these levels to advance an integrated view of life processes.
Post : Project Co-ordinator – Scientific Design & Content for IndiaBioscience Program (01 post)
India Bioscience is a program based out of the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Bangalore that aims to catalyse the growth of biology within India, and to this end we work with academics, government, industry and the not-for-profit sector. The major funding of the program is from the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India. As part of the DBT funded program, IndiaBioscience is looking to appoint eligible personnel to the position advertised on contractual terms.
Role Summary : Operating under the guidance of the Executive Director, the Project Coordinator - Scientific Design and Content will be responsible for creating posters, graphics, and content that supports the development and execution of all IndiaBioscience activities and projects.
Essential Qualification and Experience :
1. Postgraduate degree in Science, Engineering or Technology with 2 years of relevant experience. A good understanding of the science and research ecosystem of India will be given preference.
2. The candidate will require to have advanced competency with graphic art, design, content creation, video editing, audio editing, ability to come up with new ideas. Advanced proficiency with graphic design tools such as Canva / Adobe Illustrator / Biorender is required.
3. The candidate will require to possess skills such as multitasking across projects at various stages, time management, high quality of work and attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, turnaround work requests in a short timeline, and build competence with new and diverse software / platforms in a relatively rapid manner.
4. The candidate will be expected to undertake work-related travel for IndiaBioscience meetings, workshops, and presence and participation in the YIM meetings. Ability to be able to undertake travel as needed by the organisation / Executive Director is an essential requirement of this role.
Desired Experience :
A demonstration of collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively and accomplish goals in team settings will be advantageous.
Personal characteristics : The role is best suited to a candidate who is self-driven and adaptable, thrives in a dynamic work environment, and can be a quick learner and self-starter.
Age limit : 35 years as on 1st January 2024
Salary offered : Consolidated salary of Rs.42,000/- per month as per DST norms
