    ABSTRACT:
The umbilical blood cord being rich in stem cells needs to be preserved by means of a new technique called cryopreservation. The Process whereby whole tissues or cells are preserved by cooling at very low temperatures is known as Cryopreservation. Stem cell cryopreservation is a relatively new phenomenon; it is one way of ensuring the longevity of child’s health. This is done by banking the baby’s umbilical cord blood affluent with stem cells. Stem cells are important as they can grow into tissues, even organs like the heart or liver. What is more, they have the awesome potential to revamp damaged tissues.

Till date, over seventy diseases have been successfully treated with the help of stem cell stored in the cord blood. Research on stem cells has, by no means, abated. Scientists realizing their potential and worth are carrying out intensive research on their uses as well as ways preservation. Before preserving stem cells, a biological test is carried out to eschew the possibility of deadly diseases like various types of Hepatitis or HIV. That done, the cord blood cells are now stored by means of the technique under discussion- Cryopreservation. This technique involves adding a cryopreservant that lets the blood freeze gradually. The blood is frozen to sub-zero degree temperatures so that biochemical reactions or any other dangerous biological that could cause cell death may be arrested. Typically, the cells are stored at temperatures as low as -196, – 156, or – 120 degrees centigrade. Freezing stem cells through cryopreservation at such low temperatures is supposed to ensure their longevity. Let it be known, however, that scientists are still divided over the optimum temperatures as well as the efficacy of the cryopreservation technique itself. The aim of present article is to provide in depth knowledge about this technique of preserving stem cells of child i.e. the technique so called “Cryopreservation”. An attempt is also made to focus how this technique ensures the longevity of child’s health.

    ABSTRACT
Tak-875, a new treatment for type-2 diabetes, improves blood sugar control and is equally effective as glimepiride (Sulfonylurea, oral hypoglycaemic agent), but has a significantly lower risk of hypoglycaemia, according to a new study. It works by boosting the release of insulin from pancreatic beta cells when glucose and fatty acids rise in the blood, such as after a meal, which results in a fall in blood glucose levels. TAK-875 is a novel oral medication designed to enhance insulin secretion in a glucose dependent manner, which means that it has no effect on insulin secretion when glucose levels are normal, and as such has the potential to improve the control of blood sugar levels without the risk of hypoglycaemia. The pill belongs to a new class of treatments called GPR40 agonists, which activate a receptor that stimulates and regulates insulin production. New treatments are needed because of “the expected increase in the number of cases of Type 2 diabetes during the next few decades” and because some current drugs have “insufficient effect,” the researchers, led by Charles Burant at the University of Michigan Medical School, wrote in the study. Free fatty acid receptor 1 (FFA1), also known as G protein-coupled receptor 40 (GPR40), plays a vital role in stimulating and regulating the production of insulin. It works by boosting the release of insulin from pancreatic β-cells when glucose and fatty acids rise in the blood, such as after a meal. The release of insulin results in a fall in blood glucose levels. Drugs that activate the FFAR1 receptor have the potential to help diabetics release more insulin and improve control of blood glucose levels. This article gives an overview about this newly introduced drug TAK-875 and its role in treatment for type-2 diabetes.

    ABSTRACT :
Diclofenac is currently the eighth largest-selling drug and the most frequently used NSAID (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) in the world, since its introduction in Japan in 1974. Diclofenac is among the better tolerated NSAIDs. Only major adverse effect of Diclofenac is that it causes direct and indirect irritation of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT). To reduce the side effects on gastrointestinal tract (GIT) and to improve therapeutic efficacy of Diclofenac, it can be formulated in polymeric microspheres.
The use of polymeric carriers in formulations of therapeutic drug delivery systems has gained widespread application, due to their advantage of being biodegradable and biocompatible. Among the microparticulate systems, microspheres have a special importance since it is possible to target drugs and provide controlled release. Diclofenac sodium (DS), is a potent drug in the NSAID group having non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory properties, and is widely used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. In this present study, it was aimed to prepare microsphere formulations of DS using a natural biodegradable polymer as a carrier for administration to extend the duration period of the dosage form. Microsphere formulations of DS which were prepared were evaluated in vitro for particle size, yield value, encapsulation efficiency, surface morphology, and in vitro drug release.

    Abstract
Biocatalysis involving certain enzymes like NHase, Nitrilase, Tannase and Amidase produces certain commercially important compounds .NHase are used for the synthesis of certain compounds such as acrylamide and nicotinamide. Thermostable Nitrilase from the Rhodococcus strains is used for the modification of acrylic fiber surface. The activity of amidase enzymes is five times increased and inhibited with the use of Co2+and Hg2+, 2-mercaptoethanol, dithiothreitol, and ethylene diaminetetraceticacid respectively. Furthermore the production of amidesis done as a by the help of a nitrilase-catalysed reaction of a heterolytic amino nitriles by a enzyme. For the hydrolysis of Gallic acid esters and hydrolysable tannis the tannase is use as catalyst and this gallic acid is produced by the hydrolysis of methyl gallate by fungal tannase, the tannase activity is also shown by lactic acid bacteria and the nitrilase is used for the modification of acrylic fibers by the help of a reaction media with some parameters like time, enzyme activity and its formulation.
