Basic and professional qualification
a) Should be graduate in Medicine or Science or Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Chemistry of a university established in India by Law or has an equivalent qualifications recognized and notified by the central government for such purpose and has not less than five years post graduate experience in the testing of drugs in a laboratory under the control of –
(i) a Government Analyst appointed under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940; or
(ii) the head of an institution or testing laboratory approved for the purpose by Government; or
b) Should possess a Post Graduate Degree in medicine or Science or Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Chemistry of a university established in India by law or has equivalent qualification recognized and notified by the Central Government for such purpose or the Associate ship Diploma of the institution of Chemists, India, obtained by passing the said examination with analysis of Drugs and Pharmaceuticals as one of the subjects and has had after obtaining the said Post Graduate Degree or Diploma, not less than three years' experience in the testing of drugs in a laboratory under the control of:-
(i) a Government Analyst appointed under the Drugs and Cosmetic Act, 1940; or
(ii) the Head of an Institution or Testing Laboratory, approved for the purpose by Government:

Provided that:-
(i) for the purpose of examination of items in Schedule 'C' of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945, the person appointed under clause (a) or clause (b), should be able to produce evidence of satisfactory training in physiology, bacteriology or serology or pathology or pharmacology or microbiology and should have an experience of testing of
the said items in an institution or Testing Laboratory, approved by the Government for a period of not less than five years' in the case of a person appointed under clause (a) and of not less than three years' in the case of a person appointed under clause (b);
(ii) no person, who is engaged directly or indirectly in any trade or business connected with the manufacture of drugs shall be appointed as a Government Analyst for any area:

Provided further that for the purpose of examination of Antisera, Hoxoid and Vaccine and Diagnostic Antigos for veterinary use, the person appointed shall be a person, who is graduate in veterinary Science or General Science, or Medicines or Pharmacy and had not less than five years' experience in the standardization of biological products or a person holding a Post Graduate Degree in Veterinary Science or General Science or Medicine or Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Chemistry with an experience of not less than three years in the standardization of biological products:

For the post mentioned at Sr. no. 21 and 22 Possesses at least one hundred and twenty hours course with hands on experience in the use of Personal Computer on Information Technology in office productivity applications or Desktop Publishing applications From Government recognized institution or a reputed institution, which is ISO 9001 certified OR Possesses a Computer Information Technology Course Equivalent to ‘O’ level certificate of Department Of Electronics Accreditation of Computer Courses (DOEACC) of Government of India for the posts.
The classifications for the total no. of posts be read as: General, Scheduled Caste, Schedule Caste (vimukt jaati), Backward Class, Physically Handicapped, Ex- Servicemen, Sports Persons and Freedom Fighters.

Terms & Conditions:
Educational qualification must be from a recognized University/ Board as per details mentioned against each post.
Age limit: Between 18 and 37 years as on 1st Jan., 2011 (1/1/2011). Age relaxation as per the rules of Punjab Government.
Relaxation in upper age for SC/ BC, candidates is 5 years and for Physically Handicapped is 10 years and for candidates for Ex-Servicemen Category, the age relaxation will be as follows:
"For recruitment to any vacancy in the State Civil Services whether reserved or not under these rule an Ex-Servicemen shall be allowed to deduct the period of his service in the Armed Forces of the Union for his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for direct appointment to such vacancy in the concerned Service rules, by more than 3 years, he shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding age limit"
Only those candidates who have passed Punjabi Subject in Matriculation or above are eligible to apply.
Reservation will be as per applicable rules and Punjab Government Policy Guidelines.
The SC/ BC Category certificate should be in accordance with the instructions of the Department of Welfare Punjab and the certificate for the Ex-Serviceman, Freedom fighters and Sports persons categories should be in accordance with the instruction of the Concerned Department as per the following details:

Note: Candidates applying under the above mentioned 4 categories should have mentioned certificates before last date of filling the applications.
Reservations shall be as per policy/ instructions of the Punjab Government. It shall include candidate of:- SC, SC (Vimukt Jatti), BC, Ex-Servicemen, Handicapped Persons, Freedom fighter and Sportspersons, Categories.
The qualification of candidates should be prior to the last date of filling the applications.
No TA/DA will be paid for the journeys performed for the written test/ counseling etc.
The candidate applying for more than one post/ category shall have to apply separately, along with necessary fees.
Candidates are requested to mention their sub category viz-a-viz Caste in online application form.
Department has not any mechanism to check the certificates of candidates who are applying online. If, at any stage certificate of the candidate is found fictitious/bogus or in eligible, the candidature of the candidate will be cancelled and action will be taken according to law.
Only those Government employees shall be eligible to be issued appointment letters who are certified by the Head of the Department as not having any pending disciplinary proceedings or undergoing punishment under Punjab Civil Services (Punishment & Appeal) Rules, 1970, or any other applicable rules, as the case may be, not undergoing any trial/ prosecution or any other material disqualification in terms of integrity and professional misconduct and necessary NOC should be obtained from the Head of the Department.
Pay Scale of the posts will be as per Government Notifications and service rules.
