BRIC-Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is an Institute of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The institute is an integral part of the interdisciplinary NCR Biotech Science Cluster located at Faridabad, with the mission to conduct innovative translational research and to develop research collaborations across disciplines and professions to translate concepts into products to improve human health.
This recruitment is to fill up the vacancies of BRIC-THSTI under the following projects.
Project Research Scientist-I (One post)
Project : Exploring leucine metabolism pathway for development of novel interventions and vaccine against Mycobacterium tuberculosis
PI : Dr. Ramandeep Singh
Essential & Desirable qualifications & Experience : First Class Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences, including the integrated PG degree, from the recognized university.
• Expertise in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Structural biology and Immunology. OR Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degree, with PhD in Life Sciences from the recognized university.
Job description : • Expertise in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Structural biology and Immunology.
• The candidate should also be familiar with Tissue culture techniques, animal handling, enzymatic assays and Immune assays.
Monthly consolidated emoluments : Rs. 56,000/- +HRA

Project Research Scientist-I (One post)
Project : Consortia for vaccine candidate development against arboviruses
PI : Dr. Amit Awasthi
Essential & Desirable qualifications & Experience : First Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degree in Life Sciences from a recognized university. OR Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degree with PhD degree in Life Sciences from a recognized university. Preference will be given to candidates having experience in working at ABSL3/BSL3 facility, Pre-clinical studies in animal models, small animal handling.
Job description : Experience in conducting/ handling pre-clinical animal studies, expert in cell culture, performing immunological Assays etc. data analysis and report writing.

Project Scientist-I (One post)
Project : Optimized salicylamide derivatives and prodrugs for the treatment of influenza infections
PI : Dr. Sweety Samal
Co-PI : Dr. Shailendra Asthana
Essential & Desirable qualifications & Experience : PhD in any branch of Life Sciences from the recognized university.
Job description : • Design and perform assays to test antiviral activity, cytotoxicity, mechanism of action.
• Keep abreast of scientific/ technological development by participating in scientific meetings/ seminars and through regular scientific review.
• Direct assay development initiatives to enhance and progress Anti-Infective project goals
• Able to present results in internal meetings and scientific conferences.
• Preference will be given to candidate having experience in molecular biology, in vitro and in vivo drug testing, handling viruses and virus virological and immunological assays. He/she will assist in vitro, in vivo and ex vivo work related to drug screening.
Monthly consolidated emoluments : Rs. 70,000/-

Project Research Scientist-I (Two posts)
Project : Optimized salicylamide derivatives and prodrugs for the treatment of influenza infections

Essential & Desirable qualifications & Experience : First Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degree in Bioinformatics / Biotechnology/ Computational Science/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Computational chemistry or equivalent from a recognized university.
Note : Preference will be given to candidates having experience in computational or medicinal chemistry with application in biology and drug discovery.
Job description : Knowledge of computational chemistry, biochemistry with computational biophysics. Work experience of conventional and other MD simulations, Computational chemistry, chemical databases, Virtual Screening (docking, pharmacophore modeling), Structure- and ligand- based drug design, Structural analysis and interaction finger printing and knowledge of different free energy methods such as MM- GBSA, MM-PBSA, LIE and FEP etc.
Monthly consolidated emoluments : Rs. 56,000/- plus HRA

General Terms & Conditions
a) These are the short-term positions and extension will be granted subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbents and tenure of the project for which they are selected. Those appointed to these positions will not have any claim for regularization of their employment.
b) All educational, professional and technical qualification should be from a recognized Board/University.
c) The experience requirement specified above shall be the experience acquired after obtaining the minimum educational qualifications specified for the post. The candidates are required to satisfy themselves, before applying /appearing for the selection process, that they possess the minimum eligibility criteria as laid down in the recruitment advertisement. No query will be entertained with regard to eligibility criteria.
d) The date of Interview of the respective post will be the CRUCIAL DATE for determining eligibility with regard to age, experience, essential qualification etc.
e) Age and other relaxations for direct recruits and departmental candidates: 1. By five years for candidates belonging to SC/ST communities. 2. By three years for candidates belonging to OBC communities. 3. For Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) falling under the following categories : (i) UR - ten years, ii) OBC - 13 years (iii) SC/ST - 15 4. Age is relaxable for Central Government servants up to five years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government, from time-to-time. 5. Institute employees will get the age relaxation to the extent of the service rendered by them as on closing date of advertisement. 6. For Ex-servicemen upto the extent of service rendered in defence forces (Army, Navy & Air force) plus 3 years provided they have put in a minimum of 6 months attested service.
f) All results/notifications will only be published on our website. Therefore, the candidates should essentially visit THSTI website, regularly.
g) All communications will only be made through email.
h) In case a large number of applications are received, screening will be done to limit the number of candidates to those possessing higher/relevant qualification and experience.
i) The no. of vacancy indicated above may change subjected to the actual requirement at the time of Written test/skill test/interview.
j) With regard to any provisions not covered in this notification, the bye laws of THSTI / Govt. of India rules / guidelines shall prevail.
