The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).
Applications are invited from eligible and interested candidates for the following purely temporary positions under the CSIR-funded project entitled “CSIR-Aroma Mission, Phase-III (HCP- 0007)”, tenable at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu
Project Assistant [02 Positions]
Essential Qualification(s) : B.Sc. in Botany/Zoology/Chemistry/ Physics/ Life Sciences or equivalent degree in these subjects.
Desirable : Experience in cultivating medicinal and aromatic plants/collection and conservation of MAPs in various climatic conditions/handling laboratory instruments. The candidates may need to travel extensively throughout the country for the implementation of the project work.
Upper Age Limit : 50 years
Monthly Emoluments : Rs.20,000/- + HRA (Increment of 15% for 3 years of experience with maximum ceiling of 4 such revisions i.e. upto 12 years of experience.
Project Assistant [01 Position]
Essential Qualification(s) : B.Sc. in Chemistry/Life Sciences or equivalent degree in these subjects OR Three Years’ Diploma in Chemical/ Electrical/ Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation in Engineering & Technology.
Desirable : Experience in handling analytical instruments like HPLC, GC-MS/MS and / or working in wet lab / Quality Control & Quality Assurance / Instrumentation facility.
Upper Age Limit : 50 years
Monthly Emoluments : Rs.20,000/- + HRA (Increment of 15% for 3 years of experience with maximum ceiling of 4 such revisions i.e. upto 12 years of experience.
Project Assistant [01 Position]
Essential Qualification(s) : B.Sc. in Computer Science/IT OR 3 Years Diploma in Computer Engineering/IT.
Desirable : Experience in handling IT infrastructure such as network, storage, and servers.
Upper Age Limit : 50 years
Monthly Emoluments : Rs.20,000/- + HRA (Increment of 15% for 3 years of experience with maximum ceiling of 4 such revisions i.e. upto 12 years of experience.
Project Assistant [01 Position]
Essential Qualification(s) : M.Sc in Computer Science or MCA or B.Tech in Computer Science/IT from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable : Knowledge of Network and System Administration includes the maintenance of hardware, server, network, software, firewall administration, and related computing.
Upper Age Limit : 35 years
Monthly Emoluments : i. Rs. 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests-CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. ii. Rs.25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above
Senior Project Associate [02 Positions]
Essential Qualification(s) : M.Sc. in Biological Sciences/ Bio technology/ Botany/Life Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent; and Four years experience in Plant molecular biology and tissue culture from Academic Institutions or Science & Technology Organizations. OR Doctoral Degree in Biological Sciences/Biotechnology/Botany/Life Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable : Experience in Plant molecular biology and tissue culture handling of aromatic and medicinal plants evidenced by patents & publications will be preferred. Preference will be given to the candidates having experience working with farmers in organizing workshops, Exhibitions, and conferences. The assignment may involve travelling to remote areas of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions

Monthly Emoluments : Rs. 42,000/- + HRA
Senior Project Associate [01 Position]
Essential Qualification(s) : Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University or M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry / Biotechnology or M. Pharm / MS in Natural Products / Pharmaceutical Chemistry or equivalent degree; and Four Years experience in handling analytical instruments / Research and Development/in Industrial or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services OR Doctoral Degree in Science / Engineering / Technology / Pharma from a recognized University or equivalent
Desirable : Experience in running analytical instruments like HPLC, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, SEM/TEM evidenced by publications /patents will be preferred. Preference will be given to students who have worked in Quality Control & Quality Assurance / Instrumentation facility and have good knowledge in regulatory affairs
Upper Age Limit : 40 years
Monthly Emoluments : Rs. 42,000/- + HRA
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
1. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement shall be initially for a period of one year or till the project duration, whichever is earlier. The engagement shall be extendable on yearly basis subject to performance review and project duration. The duration of the project is up to 31.03.2026.
2. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR – Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 5 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-IIIM, Jammu.
3. Age will be reckoned as on the date of the Interview. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per GOI/CSIR Instructions. Candidates belonging to these categories should send the certificates in the presribed format issued by the appropriate authority as per the latest instructions issued on the subject.
4. Age relaxation for Widows, Divorced Women, and Women Judicially separated from Husbands who have not remarried since, as per GOI/ CSIR provisions.
5. The filled-in Google Form should be submitted by or before 08th September 2024 (Sunday) up to 5:00 PM. Google/Application Forms submitted after the scheduled date and time shall not be entertained for the interview and summarily rejected.
6. Only eligible candidates shall be accessed for the online interview. The list of eligible candidates and the date for the interview will be displayed on the CSIR-IIIM Website, iiim.res.in, by the evening of 12th September 2024 (Thursday). Eligible/shortlisted candidates shall attend the online interview on MS Teams.
7. In case a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may re-visit the screening criteria and shortlist the candidates for interview in proportion to the available vacancies.
8. Candidate has the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
9. In case the final certificates reflect CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades, the candidate should convert the same into an equivalent percentage as per the approved formula of the University in the Google Form, and a copy of such conversion must be attached along with the google form.
10. To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfil the eligibility criteria and possess the degrees/mark sheets in the subjects above should apply for the interview.
11. Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents, including eligibility qualification, DOB, caste, and age relaxation certificate, will be verified; if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall stand cancelled.
12. Candidates currently engaged in any project at the Institute must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) before applying for any new vacancy. Applications/candidature/selection of such candidates will only be considered if the NOC has been issued by the office.
