Job for MSc or M.Tech in Life Sciences as Project Associate at NIAB

NIAB, an autonomous institute under the aegis of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, is aimed to harness novel and emerging biotechnologies and create knowledge in the cutting edge areas for improving animal health and productivity. The Institute’s research focus is on animal genetics and genomics, transgenesis, stem cell & its applications, reproductive biotechnology, infectious diseases, nanotechnology, bioinformatics and Nutrigenomics.

Post : Project Associate I (1 Position)

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the following position at National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), Hyderabad.

Project Title : “valuation of Epigenetic Changes and associated functional defects in livestock fertility caused due to residual pesticides found in fodder”.
PI : Dr Souvik Sen Sharma
Tenable upto : One Year, (likely to extended based on performance and co-terminus with the duration of the project up to September, 2026).
Essential Qualification : Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Zoology Etc.) or Post Graduate degree in professional courses (M.Tech in Life Sciences, M. VSc. Etc.).
Experience : Candidate with prior experience in any of the following area will be preferred.
I. Various molecular biology techniques like RT-PCR, qRT-PCR, Immuno histochemistry, Immune cytochemistry, genomic DNA isolation, immunoblot analysis.
II. Primary cell culture, cell line culture and maintenance.
III. Signal transduction studies.
IV. Handling and experimentation on rodents/goats.
Fellowship amount : Rs. 25,000/- + HRA (if applicable) candidates as per the DST guidelines.
Age : 35 years
