CCRUM funded Research Recruitment for Pharma / Biotechnology candidates at IIIM

CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu, is a premier Institute working under the aegis of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), an autonomous body under the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India.

This Institute invites applications from qualified and motivated candidates for the following project-based position(s), purely on a temporary basis, under the CCRUM-funded Project No. GAP-3204 titled “Safuf-e-Qaranfa1 Mediated Biogenesis of Nanocomposites towards antibiotic-resistance in medically important ESKAPE Bacteria” tenable at CSIR-IIIM Jammu

Project Associate -I [One Position]
Essential Qualification : M.Sc. / M. Pharm in Pharmacology / Biotechnology / Zoology or any other branch of Life Science from a recognised University.
Desirable Qualification : At least one year experience in cell culture techniques, ELISA, western blot, handling, dosing, and independent conduct of different in-vivo experiments in laboratory animals with knowledge in biological sample collection, processing, and data analysis.
Upper Age Limit : 35 yrs
Stipend (per month in ₹) : 25,000/-(consolidated)

Senior Project Associate [One Position]
Essential Qualification : M. Sc. Degree in Biotechnology from a recognized University and 3 years’ experience in Research and development in a research institution of the Central government/ autonomous bodies under the Central government
Desirable Qualification : Experience in Infectious disease, bacterial pathogens, handling of bacterial clinical isolates and their microbiological and genomic analysis, including bioinformatics analysis, PCR, Real Time PCR, AST & MIC as per CLSI guidelines, Efflux based experiments.
Stipend (per month in ₹) : 42,000/-(consolidated)

General Terms, Conditions & Instructions
1) The engagement will initially be for a period of One Year or until the project duration, whichever is earlier. It may be extended or curtailed depending on the project duration, requirements and the performance/conduct of the incumbent(s).
2) The tenure of engagement shall be co-terminus with the project. However, under no circumstances shall the total tenure exceed six years, including engagement in all CSIR labs. Performance will be reviewed periodically and unsatisfactory performance may lead to termination without any notice or reason.
3) The position(s) are purely temporary and are on behalf of the sponsor and, therefore, do not confer any right on the incumbent(s) to any claim, implicit or explicit, for absorption on any post in CSIR-IIIM/CSIR.
4) Candidates will have the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
5) Relaxation in age limit will be given as per Govt. of India Rules. Age will be reckoned as on the last date of submission of application.
6) Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents, including eligibility qualification, DOB, caste, and age relaxation certificate, will be verified; if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall stand cancelled.
7) The number of positions may vary depending upon the project requirements at the time of Interview.
8) The Director, CSIR-IIIM reserves the right not to fill any or all advertised positions.
9) Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification for the positions.
10) Candidates currently engaged in any project at CSIR-IIIM must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) before applying for any new vacancy. Applications/candidature/selection of such candidates will only be considered if the NOC has been issued by the office.

Mode of Selection : Selection is to be done on the basis of Interview; however, if a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may revisit the Screening criteria, if required.
