The origins of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) are rooted in the Indian Cancer Research Centre (ICRC), which was established in 1952 in Parel, Mumbai, under the purview of the Ministry of Health, Government of India. In 1966, ICRC was renamed the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) and amalgamated with the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), creating the first comprehensive cancer centre in India - the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), an autonomous grant-in-aid institution of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.
Post : Junior Research Fellow
Project Title: - “Delineating the molecular signalling mechanism that impacts chemo- resistance in human oral cancer stem cells”.
Essential Educational Qualification : *M.Sc. or equivalent in Life Sciences / Basic Sciences or M.Tech in Biotechnology from a recognized University with minimum 60% aggregate marks will be considered with CSIR-UGC NET or GATE or any other national level entrance qualified for pursuing PhD.
Experience : Candidates having experience in molecular biology, mice handling and mammalian cell culture would be preferred. JRF may get upgraded as SRF, in future, on the basis of qualifications and required experience. *M.Sc. degree having a duration of one-year course will not be considered.
Duartion : Six months and extendable. The work progress of candidates will be monitored and an extension may be given after 6 months.
Consolidated Salary : Rs. 46,990/- p.m. (Rs. 37,000/-+27%HRA) p.m
