National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG) Kalyani is an Institute of Government of India, Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Biotechnology. The Institute has created necessary physical infrastructure and critical platform technologies to support research, translation, and training in biomedical genomics. Project name : Understanding the Molecular Mechanism in Ceramide Induced Pathological Activation of Nek7/Nlrp3-Inflammasome.
Project Description : NLRP3 inflammasome has been implicated in a wide range of diseases. Few studies have reported on the NLRP3- NEK7- complex axis role in disease pathogenesis. Functional role of NLRP3 needs to shed light to get deeper insights of NEK7 role in human immune or inflammatory mediated functions. Overall, our study will be critical for to identify and facilitate in developing therapeutic regimes for better treatments of NLRP3 inflammasome-related inflammatory diseases.

Project Assistant (1 post )
Remuneration [INR] per month : 20,000/- + 9% HRA
Essential Qualifications : i) Graduate Degree in Biotechnology or any Life Sciences subject from a recognized University or equivalent.
ii) Age limit of 50 years as on last date of application
Desirable Qualifications : Postgraduate degree will be preferred Prior experience, in- vitro cultures work along with cell biology assays will be needed. It is desirable that the candidate needs to have at least 1 year experience in an R&D laboratory.
Nature of Duty : A. Execution of the project work
B. Organize the workflow and prioritize work to meet deadlines
C. Organize research documents and other related matters as per PI instructions.
Project Associate - I (1 post )
Remuneration [INR] per month : 31,000/+ 9% HRA*
Essential Qualifications : i) MSc in Biotechnology/Zoology/ Molecular biology /Microbiology or related field in Life Sciences from a recognized University and
ii) Must be selected through
(a) National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or
(b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
iii) Age limit 35 years as on last date of application
Desirable Qualifications : A prior experience of animal cell culture/ flow cytometry/ molecular biology techniques/Bio informatic analysis is desirable

C. Organize research documents and other related matters as per PI instructions.
* If no suitable candidate is found then candidate may be given 25,000/- + 9% HRA for others who do not fall under (a or b) above.
Online Interview : This position is contractual, and appointments will be initially for one year, which is extendable depending upon performance and requirements of the project.
