BRIC-Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is an Institute of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The institute is an integral part of the interdisciplinary NCR Biotech Science Cluster located at Faridabad, and is designed as a dynamic, interactive organization with the mission to conduct innovative translational research and to develop research collaborations across disciplines and professions to translate concepts into products to improve human health.
This recruitment is to fill up the vacancies of BRIC-THSTI under the following projects.
Project Research Scientist-III
Project : Consortia for vaccine candidate development against arboviruses
PI : Prof. Amit Awasthi
Max Monthly consolidated emoluments : Rs. 78,000/- +HRA
Age Limit : 45 years
Minimum Qualifications & Experience : First Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees in Life Sciences from a recognized university with three years of post- qualification experience in the relevant field or PhD degree in Life Sciences from a recognized university. OR Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees, with PhD in Life Sciences from a recognized university and three years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field.
Job Responsibilities : Experience in conducting/ handling pre-clinical animal studies, expert in cell culture, performing immunological Assays etc. data analysis and report writing. Preference will be given to candidates having experience in working ABSL3/BSL3 facility and small animal handling.
Project Research Scientist-I
Project : Optimization and development of a small molecule as a pre-clinical drug lead for NASH
PI : Dr. Dinesh Mahajan
Max Monthly consolidated emoluments : Rs. 56,000/- +HRA
Age Limit : 35 years
Minimum Qualifications & Experience : First Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degree in Life Sciences from a recognized university. OR Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degree with PhD in Life Sciences from a recognized university.
Job Responsibilities : Candidate is expected to work with rodent models of metabolic diseases for drug discovery projects. Candidate with some experience in animal models related to metabolic diseases; oral gavage; biochemical investigations; tissue histology; will be preferred. Candidate is expected to execute, optimize protocols for target validation, such as RT-PCR, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, western blots, in vitro RNA techniques (biotin RNA pull downs, RNA-IP, CLIP assays etc. Candidate should have at least one first-author peer-reviewed publication in an international journal indexed in Pubmed or Scopus.
General Terms & Conditions
1. a) These are short-term positions and extension will be granted subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbents and tenure of the project for which they are selected. Those appointed to these positions will not have any claim for regularization of their employment.
b) All educational, professional and technical qualification should be from a recognized Board/University.
c) The experience requirement specified above shall be the experience acquired after obtaining the minimum educational qualifications specified for the post.
d) The age limit, qualification, experience and other requirements may be relaxed at the discretion of the competent authority, in case of candidates who are otherwise suitable. In case candidates are not found suitable for the posts notified, they can be offered lower post / lower emoluments on the recommendation of the Selection Committee.
e) Age and other relaxations for direct recruits and departmental candidates: 1. By five years for candidates belonging to SC/ST communities.
2. By three years for candidates belonging to OBC communities.
3. For Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) falling under the following categories :
(i) UR - ten years,
ii) OBC - 13 years
(iii) SC/ST - 15
4. Age is relaxable for Central Government servants up to five years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government, from time-to-time.
5. There is no upper age limit for the Institute employees who are treated as departmental candidates.
6. For Ex-servicemen upto the extent of service rendered in defence forces (Army, Navy & Air force) plus 3 years provided they have put in a minimum of 6 months attested service.
f) Number of positions may vary depending upon the requirement at the time of interview.
