Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is an autonomous Institute of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt, of India. The institute is an integral part of the interdisciplinary NCR Biotech Science Cluster (NCR BSC) located at Faridabad, and is designed with the mission to conduct innovative translational research to translate concepts into products to improve human health.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates to fill up the following positions in the major research theme of Maternal and child health (MCH)

Principal Scientist-ll - 01 Post
Monthly consolidated emoluments : Rs. 1,92,000/-
Age Limit : 55 years
Minimal Qualifications and Experience : MD or equivalent OR Ph.D OR corresponding degree in any area of Life Sciences/ Medical Sciences from a recognized university with at least seven years of post-qualification research experience as demonstrated by patents/publications/product leads and scientific mentoring experience in the interface of health sciences and technology focused in the domain of maternal and child health.
Job description/ responsibilities : The Principal Scientist II will be required to: Work on interphase of epidemiology and inflammation and infection in maternal and child health including preterm birth, fetal growth restriction, young infant sepsis and linear growth. Expand the scope of integrative, multi-disciplinary research in maternal and child health by developing innovative research questions and obtaining extramural funding to sustain the programme.

Job description/ responsibilities : The Clinical Research Scientist will be required to: Conduct epidemiological and clinical research projects to study associations between specific epidemiological risk factors and child health outcomes. Job description/ responsibilities : The TO-II should have skill and ability to: Develop data management plan, CRF filling guidelines , design CRFs, program basic data quality checks in database TO-II will be required to: Receive CRFs from the clinical team, maintain accountability of received CRF pages and ensure accurate data entry into database Run data quality checks for the database, generate queries and query resolution within timelines. Write DM SOPs in accordance with best practice data management and ICH-GCP guidelines

Job description/ responsibilities :
For Biorepository : Liaison between clinical, biorepository and lab teams for inventory and day to day study flow for smooth execution of the studies. Indent the resources for different studies and upkeep of the facility. Ensure implementation and complete compliance with proper execution of the study SOPs for bio-specimen collection, processing, storage and distribution. Manage the proper packaging, shipment of samples as per IATA guidelines and maintain their records. Regularly monitor all activities related to the biorepository and provide technical guidance and training to the junior staff.
For Nutritional Laboratory : Supervise a laboratory handling large volume of clinical samples. Manage the lab infrastructure, equipment maintenance, stock keeping and indenting reagents as and when required. Develop SOPs for the lab and for the tests/analysis being done in the lab.

Lead a team of field workers/technicians and supervise the operational and technical aspects of implementation of the study specific field/ facility based procedures ensuring compliance with GCP. Collect, transport and store human samples Maintain the clinical data forms of the enrolled participants Ability to perform field or community based follow-up visits - telephonic, home -visits, field based anthropometric data collection, home blood sample collection, communication with participants; tracking participants at home Coordinate the activities between the hospital study sites and the data management team.

Senior Technician (Laboratory) - 01 Post

Job description/ responsibilities :
Prepare all the common laboratory reagents including buffers and media Wash laboratory ware, autoclave etc. Maintain computer inventory of laboratory reagents and instruments Up-keep of lab and performing other duties as directed.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS:
a) These are short-term positions and extension will be granted subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbents and tenure of the project for which they are selected. Those appointed to these positions will not have any claim for regularization of their employment.
b) All educational, professional and technical qualification should be from a recognized Board/University.
c) The experience requirement specified above shall be the experience acquired after obtaining the minimum educational qualifications specified for the post.

e) The age limit, qualification, experience and other requirements may be relaxed at the discretion of the competent authority, in case of candidates who are otherwise suitable.
