The origins of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) are rooted in the Indian Cancer Research Centre (ICRC), which was established in 1952 in Parel, Mumbai, under the purview of the Ministry of Health, Government of India. In 1966, ICRC was renamed the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) and amalgamated with the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), creating the first comprehensive cancer centre in India - the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), an autonomous grant-in-aid institution of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.
Post : Junior Research Fellow
Project Title:- “Investigating the Wnt signalling and epigenetic modifications involved during differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cells into various lineages”.
Educational Qualification : *M.Sc. or equivalent in Life Sciences / Basic Sciences with / without CSIR-UGC NET or GATE qualification. *M.Sc. degree having a duration of one-year course will not be considered. Selected candidates will have to join at the earliest; hence result-awaited candidates will not be eligible to apply for the post.
Consolidated Salary : CSIR-UGC NET or GATE qualification Rs. 39,370/- p.m. (Rs. 31,000/-+27%HRA) p.m.
Without CSIR-UGC NET or GATE qualification : Rs. 25,000/- or more depending on experience.
Duration : Six months and extendable. The work progress of candidates will be monitored and an extension may be given after 6 months.
