Job for M.Pharm, MSc, M.S Life Sciences as Project Associate at IIIM

The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).

Post : Project Associate-I [One Position]

Eligible, interested and highly motivated candidates are invited for Walk-in Interview for the following purely temporary position under SERB funded project entitled “Mechanism based approach comprising concomitant administration of chlorogenic acid, a natural JAK/STAT inhibitor with leflunomide (DMARD) for the management of adverse drug reactions and improved efficacy in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (GAP-3161)” tenable at CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu.

Essential Qualification : M.S./ M.Pharm / M.Sc. in Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Life Sciences/ Biochemistry from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable : Candidate having experience in: 1. Rodent animal handling and conducting in-vivo experiments. 2. Experience in basic cell culture and molecular biology techniques.
Upper age limit : 35 years
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : i) Rs. 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests-CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. ii) Rs. 25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.
The tenure of engagement shall be co-terminus with the project GAP-3159. However, the offer of engagement for the post shall be issued initially for a period of one year only.

The tenure of engagement for the position shall be co-terminus with the project GAP-3161, i.e. up to 16th February 2026. However, the offer of engagement for the position shall be issued initially for a period of one year or till the tenure of the project, whichever is earlier.

Important Instructions
1. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per GOI/CSIR Instructions. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD etc. should send their copies of certificates in the proper format issued by the appropriate authority as per the latest instructions issued on the subject. 2. Age relaxation for Widows, Divorced Women and Women Judicially separated from Husbands, who are not remarried since, as per GOI/CSIR provisions.

Online Selection Procedure
1. Application for the positions can be filled online using the Google Forms link.
2. Filled in Google Form should be submitted by or before 09th March 2024 up to 5:00 pm. Application Forms submitted after the scheduled date and time shall not be entertained for the Interview.
3. Only eligible candidates shall be assessed for the interview. The list of eligible candidates and date for Interview will be displayed on CSIR-IIIM Website iiim.res.in by evening on 13th March 2024 up to 5:00 pm.
4. The venue of the interview shall be Board Room, CSIR-IIIM, Jammu.
5. If a large number of candidates apply, the screening committee may re-visit the screening criteria and shortlist the candidates for interview in proportion to the available vacancies.
6. Candidate has the option to interact in English/Hindi before the selection committee.
7. To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfill the eligibility criteria and possess the relevant degrees in the aforesaid subjects should 2 apply for online application through Google Form.
8. In case the final certificates reflect CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades etc., the candidate should convert the same into equivalent percentage as per the approved formula of the University in the Google Form and a copy of such conversion formula must be attached along with the Google Form.
9. Upon selection / empanelment, the original documents including essential qualification, DOB, caste and age relaxation certificates will be verified, if any discrepancy is found, the selection / empanelment shall stand cancelled.
10. It is clarified that the engagement of all project staff in different projects either in the same Lab/Instt. or different Lab/Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 5 years in any case. If at later stage any fudging/fraud, in this regard, is found, legal action as warranted under rules shall be taken against the wrongdoer. Candidates are required to submit undertaking (attached with Google Form) in this regard.
