Post : Junior Research Fellow
Junior Research Fellow-1 (JRF-1)
No of post : One
Essential Qualifications :
i) Masters in Life Sciences (Virology / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Molecular Biology / Bioinformatics / Neurosciences or related subjects)
ii) Qualified national level examination conducted by ICMR/CSIR/UGC/ DBT/DST or equivalent
Desirable Qualifications : Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience of
• NGS techniques for sequencing of viruses and NGS data analysis (bioinformatics)
• Experience of working in BSL 2 laboratory
• Performing laboratory assays like ELISA and Real time PCR
• Mammalian cell culture techniques
• Maintenance of project records in laboratories, Documentation, Computer skills
Maximum age limit : 28 years
Emoluments : Rs.31,000/- pm + 27% HRA
Duration of the post : 3 years Initial appointment will be made for a period of 12 months, which will be extended every 12 months for three years (or till the end of the project) depending upon the performance of the candidate
Junior Research Fellow-2 (JRF-2)

Essential Qualifications
i) MVSc (Vety. Microbiology / Biotechnology) / MSc (Agri. Biotechnology / Agri. Microbiology) / MFSc (Microbiology) / Postgraduate Degree in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics etc) ii) Qualified national level examination conducted by ICMR/CSIR/UGC/ DBT/DST or equivalent
Desirable Qualifications : Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience of Molecular techniques (PCR, Real Time PCR and downstream applications)
• Immunological techniques
• Virus sequencing techniques and bioinformatics
• Mammalian cell culture techniques, isolation of viruses
• Rabies diagnostic techniques
• Experience of working in BSL 2 laboratory
• Maintenance of project records in laboratories, Documentation, Computer skills
Maximum age limit : 28 years
Emoluments : Rs.31,000/- pm + 27% HRA
Work Location : Department of Neurovirology, NIMHANS, Bangalore and Department of Microbiology, Veterinary College, KVAFSU, Hebbal, Bangalore
