Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) can trace its origins to the Ecole de Medicine de Pondicherry established by the French Government in 1823. In 1956 foundation for new medical college was laid and in 1964, hospital was inaugurated. JIPMER became an institution of national importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India in the year 2008. It is an institution established for teaching, research and patient care in the area of health. JIPMER spreads over 192 acres.
Advertisement for the post of Senior Research Fellow & Project Technician-III in the Extramural Research Project “ICMR’s Network of Pulmonary Fibrosis” funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
Post : Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
Essential Qualification :
1. MBBS / BDS / MVSc / M.Pharma degree holders
2. M.Sc. Epidemiology or Clinical Research M.Sc. (Life Sciences), Master of Social Work (MSW) with Two years of research experience. Desirable :
A) Previous experience as a Junior Research Fellow
B) Degree in Clinical Research, Course Certification in Computer application, and Past Experience of handling Funded Extramural / Intramural Projects will be given preference.
Consolidated Fixed Emolument (Per month) : 35,000/-(plus 16%DA) = 40,600/-
Upper Age limit (In years) : 35
Nature of Employment : Temporary
Duration of Employment : Initial recruitment for 12 months. The extendable total duration of 03 years, depending on the candidate’s performance and a budget grant from the funding agency.

Terms and Conditions
1. Method of recruitment may be written exam/ Interview or both.
2. The selected candidate will have to join within 05 days of declaration of results.
3. It is NOT permanent employment with JIPMER, Pondicherry.
4. The above-mentioned vacancies are purely on a temporary basis for one year or completion of project whichever is earlier.
5. NO accommodation will be provided for the selected candidates
6. NO claim for any other regular post in JIPMER, Pondicherry shall be entertained.
7. The candidate must bring a copy of the filled application form and all essential documents if called for an interview. 8. Incomplete applications or applications received after the due date will not be considered.
9. NO TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
10. Experience should have been gained after minimum essential qualification.
11. Qualification/ experience/ other terms and conditions may be relaxed/ altered at the discretion of Director JIPMER, Pondicherry / Recruitment Committee.
12. No other allowances/ facilities other than consolidated salary shall be admissible.
13. The decision of the recruitment committee will be final.
14. Submission of wrong or false information during the process of selection shall disqualify the candidate at any stage.
15. If the performance of the appointee is not found satisfactory by the principal investigator/ Nodal officer, the appointment can be terminated at any time without any prior notice/compensation.
16. The appointee may be relieved from the current job position by serving one-month prior notice if the notice period is less than a 1-month, an amount equal to the salary of 01 months will have to be deposited for relieving certificate.
