Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) was established in the year 1989 as an autonomous institute under the administrative control of Govt. of Odisha. In 2002, it was taken over by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. The Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee dedicated the institute to the nation in July 2003. Institute of Life Sciences has a broad vision of carrying out high-quality multidisciplinary research in the area of life sciences. The goal is for overall development and betterment of human health, longevity, agriculture and environment.

Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from Indian Nationals to join in the following position in Wellcome-DBT India Alliances project.

Post : Research Associate/Postdoctoral Fellow - (02 posts)

Projects:
1. Understanding the role of IRGM-mediated innate immune response in inflammatory and infectious diseases.
2. Crosstalk between autophagy and cellular inflammation in cancer.

Fellowship: Rs. 36000/- per month + @20%HRA

Eligibility and Selection:
Ph. D. in Life Sciences. Experience in mammalian cell culture, molecular biology and cell biology techniques are required. Candidates having experience in handling mice and candidates having first author publication in peer-reviewed journal in above subject areas will be given preference during screening stage. Candidates who have submitted Ph.D. thesis and are waiting for viva voce may also apply. For such candidates, fellowship amount will be that of an SRF until he/she defends Ph.D. thesis.

Selection will be carried out through application screening, followed by an interview process.
