Vacancy for Clinical Research Officer / Data Analyst at BITS

The BITS, Pilani - K. K. Birla Goa Campus, is about 10 kms south of Vasco-da-Gama, 20 kms north of Margaon and 7 kms east of Goa Airport, along National Highway – 17B, Bypass road. In the midst of idyllic, sylvan beauty, the Campus houses the Main building, having academic and administrative offices, Guest House, Hostels for boys and girls, Student Activity Centre, faculty and staff quarters, Medical Centre, Playground and Shopping Complex. The location of the campus is unique in the respect of scenic beauty and panoramic view of picturesque surroundings encompassing Zuari River, hillocks, roads, waterways, forests, and landscape.

Post : Project Technical Support (CRO / Data Analyst)

Applications are invited for the position of Project Technical Support (CRO / Data Analyst) in the Department of Biological Sciences at BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus, Goa in an ICMR sponsored research project titled “Pathophysiological investigations of sickle cell disease and interventions to improve associated hemorheological abnormalities” (No. EM/SG/Dev.Res/122/3151-2023; ISRM: IIRP-2023-3151).

To be hired by BITS Goa but stationed at SCB Medical College, Odisha, to carry out the clinical trials. Clinical Research Officer / Associate services include project management, clinical monitoring, data  management, and regulatory affairs. The dedicated CRO/Data Analyst will ensure data integrity, conduct statistical analyses, and produce high-quality reports, contributing to reliable outcomes and research success. No accommodation will be provided.

Co-Investigators : Dr. Rabindra K Jena (SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, Odisha) and Dr. Raviprasad Aduri (BITS Goa)

Broad area of Research : The study aims to evaluate the clinical efficacy of HbS-Sailin (Sai Phytoceuticals, New Delhi) as an indigenous anti-sickling formulation in Indian population. Additionally, metabolomics investigations using liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry will be utilized to reveal disease pathophysiology. Novel hemoglobin-oxygen affinity modifiers will be screened in vitro using a multidisciplinary approach
Duration of the project : Initially 1 year (3 years, subject to performance-based extension)


Salary : @18,000/- + 18% HRA = @21,240/- pm (1st year; 5% increment in 3rd year)
Qualification : Eligibility criteria for Clinical Research Officer/Associate/Data analyst: Master's degree (MSc/MS/M.Pharm or equivalent) in life sciences or related discipline with clinical research experience and knowledge of biostatistics. Bachelor's degree (BSc/BS/B.Pharm or equivalent) in life sciences or related discipline with several years of experience in clinical research will be given due consideration as well. Proficiency in MS Office and communication skills required. Attention to detail and adaptability crucial. Certification in clinical research analysis is advantageous but not mandatory. Willingness to learn regulatory compliance is a must. Candidate with evidenced experience in clinical trial, relevant data analysis, data management and clinical statistical analyses will have additional weightage in selection. Selected candidate with experience commensurate with the objectives of the ICMR proposal and/or satisfactory performance will be provided with additional equivalent compensation through industry / institute sources.
