Opportunity for M.Pharm, MSc to Join Regional Ayurveda Research Institute

It was established initially as Regional Research Institute (Ay.) in 1979 with the merger of survey of Medicinal Plants Unit (SMPU), Mobile Clinical Research Unit (MCRU) in addition to Community Health Care Research Programme. The Institute was upgraded as Central Research Institute (Ay.) in 1999. The Institute has shifted to its own building in August 2002. As per the notification of CCRAS dated 15th December 2009, the Institute has been re-upgraded in category A and named as National Research Institute for Ayurveda –Siddha Human Resource Development, Gwalior. Later the name of this Institute has been changed as Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Drug Development, Aamkho, Gwalior on 19th May 2016. Further the institute has been renamed as Regional Ayurveda Research Institute since 22nd December 2020.

Post : Senior Research Fellow (Pharmacognosy, Chemistry) (failing which, JRF at requisite remuneration)

Walk-in Interview for eligible candidates will be held for 02 contractual posts of SRF (01 Pharmacognosy + 01 Chemistry) on co-terminus basis for IMR Project entitled “Development of Quality standards for Useful Parts of Selected Medicinal Plants of Ayurveda.” of Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Aamkho, Gwalior (M.P.). The qualification and other details are as follow

Qualification / Experience
SRF (Pharmacognosy)
I. Essential Qualification: M.Sc. (Botany) with 02 years experience/ M.Pharm. in Pharmacognosy or equivalent from a recognized University/Institution.
II. Desirable : Preference will be given to those who possess
1. Higher qualification in relevant subject.
2. Experience in macroscopic/microscopic studies and camera lucida drawings.
3. Experience of any research project by the Ministry of AYUSH, ICMR, CSIR, DST or equivalent organization in relevant field.
4. Skill of drafting and editing of scientific documents/articles/ technical reports etc. and Publication in peer reviewed journals.
5. Working knowledge of computer.
or, JRF (Pharmacognosy)
I. Essential Qualification: M.Sc. (Botany) / M.Pharm. in Pharmacognosy or equivalent from a recognized University/Institution.
II. Desirable : Same as above


SRF (Chemistry)
I. Essential Qualification: M.Sc. (Chemistry) with 02 years experience / M.Pharm. (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) or equivalent from a recognized University/Institution.
II. Desirable: Preference will be given to those who possess
1. Higher qualification in relevant subject.
2. Experience in handling analytical instruments like, HPLC/ HPTLC/ GC etc.
3. Experience of any research project by the Ministry of AYUSH, ICMR, CSIR, DST or equivalent organization in relevant field.
4. Skill of drafting and editing of scientific documents/articles/ technical reports etc. and Publication in peer reviewed journals.
5. Working knowledge of computer.or,
JRF (Chemistry)
I. Essential Qualification : M.Sc. (Chemistry)/ M. Pharm. (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) or equivalent from a recognized University/Institution.
II. Desirable : Same as above

Age : Not exceeding 35 years as on 01/01/2024 (relaxations as per Central Govt, rules in force)
Emoluments (per month) : SRF : Rs. 42 ,000 P.M. + admissible HRA (as per rule) JRF : Rs. 37 ,000 P.M. + admissible HRA (as per rule)
Period of engagement : Initially for 06 months which is likely to be extended in every 06 months upto 02 years and/or co-terminus with the project, subject to satisfactory performance of the candidate.


General Terms & Conditions
1. No claim for appointment on regular basis by virtue of being engaged on contractual basis will be entertained.
2. The applicants are required to report in person on above mentioned time, date and venue along with duly filled-in Bio-data cum Application Form available on CCRAS website (ccras.nic.in) with duly supported self attested copy of certificates i.e. mark-sheets, caste certificate, experience certificates and character certificate etc. along with original certificates (for verification only) and two recent passport size photographs. Applications with incomplete documents will not be entertained at any stage.
3. No TA/DA will be paid to attend the written test/interview.
4. Canvassing in any form or on behalf of any candidate will result disqualification of the candidature.

6. The Assistant Director and Institute In-charge, RARI, Gwalior, M.P. reserves the right to postpone/cancel the recruitment exercise at any stage.
