Life Sciences Recruitment at National Institute of Technology

National Institute of Technology Calicut is one of the 31 institutions of national importance set up by an Act of Parliament namely the National Institute of technology Act 2007, and is fully funded by the Government of India. The mandate of the Institute is to provide higher technical education and conduct research in the various branches of Engineering, Science, Technology and Management. Originally established in 1961 as a Regional Engineering College (REC), it was transformed into a National Institute of Technology in 2002. The Institute offers bachelors, masters and doctoral degree programs in Engineering, Science, Technology and Management. With its proactive collaborations with a multitude of research organizations, academic institutions and industries, the institute has set a new style for its functioning under the NIT regime.

Post : Project Associate-I

An Online Interview for the engagement of a Project Associate-I (on contract basis) for a Research Project in the Department of Bioscience and Engineering, NIT Calicut is scheduled to be held on 06.01.2025.

Duration of Engagement : One Year (on contract basis) and extendable further for two more year based on the performance of the candidate and availability of the project fund.

Name of Project : 3D bioprinting with plant-based bioinks for developing tissue/organ biomimicking scaffolds for improving osteogenesis
Qualifications : M.Tech Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Biomedical Sciences or MSc in all branches of life sciences.
Age Limit : 35 years on the date of application
Consolidated monthly pay : Rs. 25,000 + 18 % HRA

1. Eligible candidates have to fill the registration form (as annexed) and submit the duly filled form along with the most recent CV and self-attested photocopies of the mark sheets/certificates in support their academic qualification/experience. All the soft copies may be consolidated into a single PDF document and e-mail to gopalshankar@nitc.ac.in with subject "Application for PA1-DBT-3D Bioprinting”. Also, with a copy to hodbiotech@nitc.ac.in The applicant will be responsible for the authenticity of information, other documents and photographs submitted.
2. The Institute reserves the right to relax qualification and experience for the candidates with exceptional credentials.
3. Applicants who are already in employment (government or any other organization) are required to submit a "No Objection Certificate” from the employer at the time of interview along with the above-mentioned documents.

4. The decision of the selection committee is final. Canvassing in any form leads to the rejection of the candidature.
5. Selected candidate will not be permitted to claim any regular/ part-time appointments in this institute or any other during this period. However, the selected candidate may be allowed to join PhD program under project category as per the Institute's norms.
6. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
7. The institute reserves the right not to fill up the posts, cancel the advertisement in whole or in part, without assigning any reason and the decision of the Administration of NIT Calicut, in this regard shall be final.
