Jobs for M.Pharm, MSc as Project Associate at IIIM

The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).

Applications in the prescribed format [Google Form] are invited from eligible & interested candidates for engagement of Project Associate-I, on purely temporary basis, under the projects GAP-3130 (Multi-target Hybrid Molecules to Fight Resistant and Latent Tuberculosis, Indo-French Collaborative Project sponsored by CEFIPRA) and GAP-3153 (Cyclic Peptides from Plants of Himalayan Region : Their Screening, Isolation, and Characterization, sponsored by SERB). The projects are tenable at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu.

Project Associate-I
Project No : GAP-3130
Essential Qualification : M.Sc./ M.Pharm / M.S. in Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Natural Products Chemistry from a recognized university or equivalent.
Desirable : Research experience in organic synthesis will be preferred.
Upper age limit : 35 years
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : i) Rs. 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests-CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. ii) Rs. 25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

Project Associate-I
Project No : GAP-3153
Essential Qualification : M.Sc./ M.Pharm / M.S. in Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Pharmacognosy / Natural Products Chemistry from a recognized university or equivalent.
Desirable : Research experience/knowledge in Natural Products Isolation will be preferred.
Upper age limit : 35 years
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : i) Rs. 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests-CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. ii) Rs. 25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

The positions are co-terminus with the projects GAP-3130 and GAP-3153. Duration of the projects is up to 31.07.2025 and 18.10.2025 respectively.

Important Instructions
1. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per GOI/CSIR Instructions.
2. Age relaxation for Widows, Divorced Women and Women Judicially separated from Husbands, who are not remarried since, as per GOI/CSIR provisions.

Selection Procedure :
1. Application form for these positions can be filled online in the Google Form. Filled-up Google Form should be submitted by or before 08th December, 2023 up to 5:00 pm.
2. Application Form submitted after the scheduled date and time i.e., 08th December, 2023 up to 5:00 pm. shall not be entertained for Interview.
3. Only eligible candidates shall be accessed for the viva-voce on the date of Interview. The list of eligible candidates and date for Interview will be displayed on CSIR-IIIM Website www.iiim.res.in by evening on 11th December 2023.
4. Eligible/shortlisted candidate shall attend the Online Interview through Video Conferencing on MS Teams.
5. The viva-voce in respect of eligible/shortlisted candidates shall be conducted online (through Video Conferencing on MS Teams). However, if a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may re-visit the screening criteria and shortlist the candidates for Interview in proportion to the available vacancies.
6. Candidate has the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
7. The positions are purely temporary on contract basis and co-terminus with the respective Project.
8. In case, the final certificates reflect CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades etc., the candidate should convert the same into equivalent percentage as per the approved formula of the University in the Google Form.
9. To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfil the eligibility criteria and possess the degrees/mark sheets in the aforesaid subjects should apply for the Interview.
10. Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents including eligibility qualification, age and relaxation will be verified, if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall stand cancelled.
