The origins of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) are rooted in the Indian Cancer Research Centre (ICRC), which was established in 1952 in Parel, Mumbai, under the purview of the Ministry of Health, Government of India. In 1966, ICRC was renamed the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) and amalgamated with the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), creating the first comprehensive cancer centre in India - the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), an autonomous grant-in-aid institution of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.
Post : Junior Research Fellow
Project Title: - “Evaluation of the anticancer potential of deuterium depleted water on experimental model systems and clinical trial patients of human breast cancer”.
This is a multi-investigator project and the fellow need to work as a part of the team.
Educational Qualification : M.Tech / B.Tech (Biotechnology) OR M.Sc. / B.Sc. (Life Sciences/ Zoology / Biochemistry / Botany / Applied Biology / Microbiology / Biotechnology) with high marks from reputed University
Experience: - 6 months to 1 year of hands-on working experience in mammalian cell culture / animal tumor model. Candidate must have performed cell biology/biochemistry experiments in cancer biology area. Must have sound knowledge in basic computer functions and experimental data analysis and presentation. The person should be able to read, write and understand in English as well
Consolidated Salary : Rs. 36,400/- per month.
Duration : 6 months and extendable based on performance.
The work progress of candidates will be monitored for further extension of the term.
