Andhra University is not just one of the oldest educational institutions in the country, but is also the first to be conceived as a residential and teaching-cum-affiliating University, mainly devoted to post-graduate teaching and research.  The people of the State have an emotional attachment to the institution, since it came into being after a prolonged and collective struggle of the Telugu elite for a University in the educationally backward northern Circars and Ceded districts of the erstwhile Madras Presidency.  Andhra University was constituted in the year 1926 by the Madras Act of 1926.

ABSTRACT:
The New Medical Device Regulations of European Union replace the E.U’s current Medical Device Directive (93/42/EEC) and the E.U’s Directive on Active Implantable Medical Devices (90/385/EEC) According to the draft document, NB’s would be placed under a strict regimen of super vision, although it remains unclear whether the intended sanctions could be implemented against the will of a Member State, should the need occur. The qualification requirements for auditing and reviewing NB staff are steeply increased. Greater emphasis will be placed on clinical data and the Clinical Evaluation. For implantable medical devices and Class III devices clinical investigations will be expected since equivalence will generally no longer be an acceptable approach, although some exceptions can be made. The proposed MDR attempts to make more transparent the periods for review by various parties for different activities. Implementation of Unique device identification helpful for the unambiguous identification of a specific device on the market.

ABSTRACT:
The study was aimed at investigate the effect of methanolic extract of Tamilnadia ulignosa (Retz.) (Rubiaceae) on general mating behaviour, libido, and adverse effects on sexually normal male albino rats.  Methanolic extract was administered orally at the dose of 100, 200, and 400 mg / kg, to different groups of male rats (n = 8) once a day for 14 days . All the doses resulted in significant increase in mount frequency, intromission frequency and anogenital sniffing when compared to normal. The methanolic extract of Tamilnadia ulignosa (Retz.) bark at higher concentration (400 mg/kg body weight) showed significant aphrodisiac activity on male Wister albino rats as evidenced by an increase in number of mounts and mating performance. Thus, in experimental rats, the results of the present study suggest that the methanolic extracts of Tamilnadia ulignosa (Retz.) exert significant aphrodisiac activity
