In keeping with India's vision to become a world leader in Science and Technology and to usher in a new revolution, resulting in an unprecedented economic growth, Government of India reassessed the need of technical manpower and decided to set up eight new IITs. Six of them started functioning back from the academic year 2008-09. These were established at Hyderabad, Gandhinagar, Rajasthan, Ropar, Patna and Bhubaneswar. Anand Pharmacy College is established in 1998 and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and affiliated to Gujarat Technological University (GTU) at under graduate, post graduate and doctoral programmes. It offers B. Pharmacy course, M. Pharmacy (Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, Quality Assurance, Industrial Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance and Pharmaceutical Technology) and also Ph.D. programmes.

NIN has attained global recognition for its pioneering studies on various aspects of nutrition research, with special reference to protein energy malnutrition (PEM). Applications are invited for a post of a full time Junior Research Fellow leading to Ph.D. from University of Madras, under the guidance of Dr. K.R. Uma Devi at the Department of Bacteriology, NIRT Chennai. The candidate will be expected to work on genotypic and phenotypic characterization of clinical and laboratory strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in a biosafety level 3 facility for CDC funded project.
