National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI), Mohali, is an autonomous R&D Institute under Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. The institute carries out cutting edge research at the interface of agricultural biotechnology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, food processing, postharvest technology, and nutritional sciences. NABI has state of art facilities in the area of genomics (ABI 3730xl, RT-PCR, DNA analyzer, Affymetrix Microarray system, bioanalyzer, liquid handling system, automated DNA extraction system, LCM, Mass-Array (sequenom), etc), proteomics (MALDI-TOF-TOF, Q-TOF, nano-LC, LA-ICP-MS, HPLC, GCMS-MS, HP-TLC, UPLC, etc.), high performance computing facility, and food science (NIR, FTIR, etc.).
Applications are invited for a temporary position of Research Associate (RA-I) and Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under DST sponsored Indo-Poland joint research project at NABI.
Project Title: “Pharmacological mimicking of cold via cold thermoreceptors (TRPA1 and TRPM8) and energy regulation: novel implications in obesity and type-2 diabetes”

Principle Investigator: Dr. Mahendra Bishnoi & Dr. Kanthi Kiran Kondepudi
Sponsoring agency: Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India
Duration: The appointment will be till 25th August, 2019 or till the termination of the project.
POST: Research Associate
Essential qualifications: Ph.D/MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after MVSc/ M.Pharm /ME/M.Tech with at least one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI) journal. (Eligibility criteria as DST OM No.SR/S9/Z-09/2012 dated 21.10.2014)
Desirable qualifications:
1. Prior research experience supported by peer reviewed publications
2. Hands on experience in molecular biology, cell culture techniques, pre-clinical animal studies
Emoluments: The RA-I will be hired as per the emoluments’ guidelines and service conditions notified by DST (DST OM No.SR/S9/Z-09/2012 dated 21.10.2014) as well as grant sanction under the project (Rs. 36,000 per month +10% HRA).
Age Limit: The age limit of applicants for RA will be 35 years. (relaxation is admissible in case of SC/ST/OBC/women as per government of India instructions).

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Essential qualifications for JRF: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science with NET Qualification OR Graduate Degree in Professional Course with NET qualification OR Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course. (Eligibility criteria as DST OM No.SR/S9/Z-09/2012 dated 21.10.2014)
Desirable qualifications: 1. CSIR/UGC/DBT JRF fellowship 2. Prior research or training experience in Analytical Bio-chemistry, Microbiology and handling animal models.
Emoluments: Junior Research Fellow will be hired as per the emoluments’ guidelines and service conditions notified by DST (DST OM No.SR/S9/Z-09/2012 dated 21.10.2014) as well as grant sanction under the project (Rs. 25,000 per month +10% HRA).
Age Limit: The age limit of applicants for JRFs will be 28 years (relaxation is admissible in case of SC/ST/OBC/women as per government of India instructions).

All interested candidates may appear for Walk-in interview at National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute located at Knowledge city Sector-81, Mohali- 140306 on 02nd February, 2018 (Friday) at 1400 hrs along-with duly filled application form available on the website nabi.res.in. The duly filled application form must be submitted at the time of registration at NABI from 1300 hrs to 1400 hrs on 02nd February, 2018 (Friday). The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with full CV, thesis/project report, publications and original degree certificates and transcripts.
