    ABSTRACT:
Infertility is the inability of an animal or plant to reproduce by natural means. Many people in the world are facing the problem of infertility altimatlely the problem of saving their generations. Today, modern science chalanged and solved the problem of infertility by developing the technique of Test Tube Baby by using principle of in-vitro fertilization.

Dr. Subhas Mukherjee, first Asian who invented most easy and successful method of producing Test Tube Baby. In Culcutta, West Bengal, on 3rd October 1978, the team announced the birth of World's Second Test Tube baby named as 'Durga' (Kanupriya Agarwal). The announcement came 67 days after the birth of World's First Test Tube Baby named as 'Louise Brown in England by Physiologist Robert G. Edwards who awarded the Nobel Prize for such work in 2010. During his lifetime, Government of West Bengal didn't recognized his work. By the day to day insult from government Dr. Subhas Mukherjee committed to suicide.

    INTRODUCTION:
A few decades ago, it was realized that certain proteins could be used as pharmaceutical agents for the treatment of human diseases. e.g. insulin for diabetes mellitus, interferon for viral diseases. However the availability of such therapeutic/ pharmaceutical products was limited due to costly and cumbersome procedures involved in their isolation. Further, their use in humans was associated with several complications. For instance, administration of pig insulin to diabetic patients results in the development of antibodies.

The advent of recombinant DNA technology heralded a new chapter for the production of a wide range of therapeutic agents in sufficient quantities for human use. The commercial exploitation of recombinant DNA  (rDNA) technology began in late 1970s by biotechnological companies to produce proteins. There are around 400 different proteins being produced  by rDNAtechnologyand as of now around 30 have been approved for human use.

  • PULSATILE DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM AND RECENT ADVANCES: A REVIEW

    ABOUT AUTHORS:

    ABSTRACT:
Pulsatile drug delivery aims to release drugs on a programmed pattern means at appropriate time and/or at appropriate site of action. Pulsatile Drug Delivery Systems are gaining a lot of interest as they deliver the drug at the right place at the right time and in the right amount, thus providing spatial and temporal delivery and increasing patient compliance These systems are designed according to the circadian rhythm of the body. Pulsatile release of the drugs is used where a constant drug release is not desired.Gastric retentive systems, systems where the drug is released following a programmed lag phase, chronopharmaceutical drug delivery systems matching human circadian rhythms, multiunit or multilayer systems with various combinations of immediate and sustained-release preparation, are all classified under pulsatile drug delivery systems. On the other hand, site-controlled release is usually controlled by factors such as the pH of the target site, the enzymes present in the intestinal tract and the transit time/pressure of various parts of the intestine. In this review, recent patents on pulsatile drug delivery of oral dosage forms are summarized and discussed.

    ABSTRACT
The present invention relates to a filamentous fungus useful for the production of heterologous polypeptides, having been modified by recombinant DNA technology in a manner by which the expression of alkaline proteases have been completely or partially inactivated. The invention also encompasses processes for the production of proteins of interest in high yields by using the fungi of the invention. The invention furthermore relates to methods for producing such fungi and DNA constructs to be used in these methods. Extracellular alkaline proteases from Neurospora crassa is produced for the commercial requirement of proteases. The purification procedure consisted of an ammonium sulfate precipitation, dialysis, and anion-exchange chromatography, and gel filtration. We found only one enzyme identical by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Optimization was done with characterization of enzyme. With a pH value of 10.0 and temperature 60 c the enzyme production was increased.

    Abstract:
Polymers have played indispensable roles in the preparation of pharmaceutical products. Their applications range widely from material packaging to fabrication of the most sophisticated drug delivery devices. This review includes various polymers used in pharmaceutics based on their applications. The review focuses on the use of pharmaceutical polymer for controlled drug delivery applications. Examples of pharmaceutical polymers and the principles of controlled drug delivery are outlined and applications of polymers for controlled drug delivery are described. The field of controlled drug delivery is vast therefore this review aims to provide an overview of the applications of pharmaceutical polymers. General pharmaceutical applications of polymers in Dental Medicine, Ophthalmic Drug Delivery, Gene Delivery, Preparation of micro spheres etc. are also discussed briefly.
