Regional Medical Research Centre, NE Region is one of the six regional centres of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). It covers the most remote and less developed eight states of the north-eastern region of India and is responsible for carrying out Biomedical Research in the region. It was established in 1982 and runs with intramural grant from ICMR and extramural adhoc projects from different funding agencies.

Marwari Hospital and Research Centre is situated adjacent to Marwari Maternity Hospital. It is another offshoot of the holy mission of Shree Marwari Databya Aushadhalaya. The hospital has been built up with donations from Marwari Community people on a land donated by esteemed Late Seth Nandalalji Khakholia and family. This project is doubtless a massive one and challenging.
