National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research, Guwahati (NIPER-G) is an autonomous institute of National importance and the first national pharma institute in NE India set up by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India by an act of parliament, to impart high quality Education & Research in the area of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

ISF College of Pharmacy (An Autonomous College) is a unique center of Pharmaceutical Education and Research and running courses in Pharmacy viz. D.Pharm., B. Pharm., M. Pharm.  Pharm D., Pharm D. (PB.), B.Pharm. Practice and Doctorate of Pharmacy. The college is currently ranked 29th in NIRF–2021

The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients.
