Realizing the increasing importance of Pharmacy as a profession Sri.Y.V.Anjaneyulu, Chairman of Chalapathi Educational Society with his futuristic vision established Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CIPS) at Lam in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. It is located at about 8 K.M. from Guntur Town towards Amaravathi.  Guntur is well connected by bus or train from Vijayawada (40 min), Hyderabad (4.30 hrs.) and Chennai (7 hrs.) and is on the N.H.-5 connecting Chennai and Calcutta. Pleanty of local transport is arrived from Guntur town to the college campus.

The management belongs to Sindhi Minority community and has obtained the minority status for its institutions from the Hon' Bombay High Court in 1989 and interim orders for Prin.K.M.Kundnani College of Pharmacy from Hon' Supreme Court effective 1994. Prin.K.M.Kundnani College of Pharmacy is situated in the prime area of the busy, commercial metropolis, Mumbai and located near the expanse of Arabian sea at Cuffe Parade, Colaba next to Sasson Dock on Shree Rambhau Salgaonkar Road. The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi and permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai.

The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission(IPC) is an Autonomous Body ,set up under the ministry of Health & family Welfare primarily with the objective of periodically updating of the Indian Pharmacopoeia, the book of standards for the drugs; the National Formulary of India, the book of reference on the Drugs; and other related tasks such as preparing, certification and distribution of reference substance; assist the National Pharmacovigilance Programme; testing of new drugs and review of technical dossier of drugs for purpose of monograph development for Indian Pharmacopoeia. It promotes rational use of medicines through generic prescriptions. The IPC on path of evolving as a modern scientific institution of international standard
