Abstract:
Background: "Pharmacovigilance is the science and activity relating the detection, assessment, understanding and prevention of adverse effects or any other possible drug - related problems." ^[1]

Literature:Periodic safety update reports (PSUR)^[2]and Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities (MedDRA)^[3]are two important assets for maintenance of Drug safety Pharmacovigilancesystem as they are designed to represent the safety data on a particular drug from all the sources and geographical regions in the worldand to understand internationally, accepted clinically validated medical terminology for medical coding respectively.

NIPER, Rae Bareli at ITI campus, Rae Bareli under the mentoring Institute of Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow invites applications for engagement of following position on purely temporary basis on contract initially for a period of 1 year which can be extended further. The selected candidates shall have no claim for regularization against any regular post either in NIPER or CDRI.

Government of India has set up six new National Institutes of Pharmaceuticals Education and Research (NIPERs) under the aegis of Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Department of Pharmaceuticals, at Ahmedabad. Guwahati, Hyderabad, Hajipur, Kolkata and Rae Bareli. These are presently being run with the help of Mentor Institutes. The Institutes are required to be established on their own.

NIPER is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. The Government of India has declared NIPER as an ‘Institute of National Importance’.

NIPER-S has set up a dedicated Small and Medium Pharmaceutical Industry Centre (SMPIC) to serve SME Pharma sector. The objective of the centre is to help SME Pharma to attain the global standards. SMPIC provides forums where manufacturers, regulators and suppliers can come together to discuss common interest, achievements and new technologies. SMPIC is well-known for its trainings and educational programs.
