Applications are invited for filling one post of Director, Central Drugs Testing Laboratory, Mumbai; under the Directorate General of Health Services in the revised pay structure Rs.37400-67000 (PB-4) plus Grade Pay Rs.8700 Group 'A' Gazetted, Non-Ministerial by Promotion/ Deputation [Including short-term contract (ISTC)] from Officers under the Central Government/State Govts./ Recognized Research. Institutions/ Public Sector Undertakings/ Semi-Govt./Autonomous or Statutory organizations-(a)(i) holding analogous posts on regular basis; Or (ii) with 5 years' regular service in posts in the Grade Pay Rs.7600(Pay Band-3(Rs.15600-39100) in the revised pay structure or equivalent Or with 10 years' regular service in posts in the Grade Pay Rs.6600(Pay Band-3 (Rs. 15600-39100) in the revised pay structure or equivalent.
In addition, the candidate has to fulfil the educational and other qualifications prescribed for direct recruits as under:
Essential:
(i) Master's Degree in Chemistry/ Biochemistry/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Pharmacy/ Microbiology/ Pharmacology/ Physiology/ Botany/ Veterinary Science from a recognized University or equivalent; and
(ii)12 years experience in testing of drugs and coordinating the activities of different branches of a drugs testing laboratory.
[Period of deputation (ISTC) including period of deputation (ISTC) in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization/department of the Central Government shall not exceed 5 years. The maximum age limit for appointment on deputation (ISTC) shall be not exceeding 56 (fifty six) years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.]
The officer selected on deputation will have the option to draw his scale of pay plus deputation (duty) allowance in accordance. With the Department of Personnel & Trg's O.M. No. 6/8/2009-Estt. (P.II) dated 17.06.2010 as amended from time to time.
The Departmental SSO-I (Chemistry) with 10 years' regular service in the grade will also be considered along with outsiders and in case he/she is selected for appointment to the post the same shall be deemed to have been filled by promotion.
