Physician-assisted suicide (PAS), a policy defined as the act (Die with dignity Act) of assisting people with their death in order to end their sufferings, but without breaking the laws. Firstly, people thought that assisted suicide is a cause to support but later consequences would be very serious. Although, some states in US (Oregon, Washington State, and Vermont), European countries and Switzerland have legalized PAS. These mainly focus on the apparent issues of choice and self determination. Oregon’s population stated that “Die with Dignity Act is not only focus with individual’s death for relieving unbearable pain but also for the reason of disability”.

From the 1998 study, Georgetown University's Centre for Clinical Bioethics highlights the associations between the health care and assisted suicide and found that physicians under cost-cutting pressure are willing to prescribe lethal drug to the patients. Is it ethical to do so? Netherlands report the failure rate of assisted suicide and abusing effects of allowance of the policy. About 61% of patients received lethal or excess dose of painkillers were unaware of the information that they were being euthanized, however 20% among them were reported to be fully proficient.

Some studies underscore the negative aspect of assisted suicide. It would highly improbable that allowance of physician-assisted suicide protects susceptible or weak people.
