Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Prayagraj (MNNIT) is an Institute with total commitment to quality and excellence in academic pursuits. It was established as one of the seventeen Regional Engineering Colleges of India in the year 1961 as a joint enterprise of Government of India and Government of Uttar Pradesh, and was an associated college of University of Allahabad, which is the third oldest university in India.
Post : Junior Research Assistant (On Contract)
Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of Junior Research Assistant (on contract) in research project entitled “Integrated machine learning and genomics based approach to develop novel diagnostic markers for colorectal cancer” sanctioned vide letter no. CST/D-911 dated 14/08/2024 and sponsored by CSTUP.
Description and Objectives of the Project : We aim to analyze colorectal cancer NGS data for identification of CRC biomarkers with the help of machine learning methods. The candidates having experience in the area of NGS data analysis, machine learning and cancer bioinformatics will be preferred. The position is purely temporary. It will be governed by the funding agency rules & service conditions of Office of the Dean (Research & Consultancy), MNNIT Allahabad.

Essential Qualifications : M.Sc., M.Sc. (Ag), M.Pharm., M.VSc, B.Tech / B.E. or equivalent degree (in Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Molecular Human Genetics, Molecular Biology including any relevant discipline suitable to the work proposed in the project) with high academic attainment with first class in UG and PG examination.
Desirable Experience and qualification : Experience in the field of cancer genomics and machine learning. 75% marks or equivalent CGPA in M.Sc./ 65% marks or equivalent CGPA in M.Tech.
Fellowship : Rs. 25,000.00 per month (or as per Funding agency guidelines)
Other Benefits : Accommodation may be available as per the availability and the Institute norms. Candidate selected for the position may register for Ph.D. if eligibility conditions as set by institute are met by him/her. Facility of yearly leave, carryover leave, medical benefits etc. may be available as per applicable rules of the project staff
Age Limit : The upper age limit for Junior Research Assistant shall be 28 years as on 1st April of year in which application is made Tenure of Appointment : Appointment will be made on contract basis for a period of one year initially (Date of joining and tenure will depend on availability of grant), which may be extended depending on the performance evaluation on yearly basis till the end of project (September 2027).
Note
1. The applicant will be responsible for the authenticity of information, other documents and photographs submitted.
2. The Institute reserves the right to accept application at any time, and consider candidates of exceptional credentials without applications.
3. Qualification and experience may be relaxed by the Institute at any point of time for otherwise exceptional candidates. Mere, possessing the prescribed qualification does not ensure that the candidate would be called for Interview. The Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of merit and requirement of the project.
4. Shortlisted Candidates will be informed by e-mail about the interview date. So, the candidate must provide valid E -mail IDs in their applications.
5. Shortlisted candidates have to present themselves for the interview on the interview date with updated CV, publications if any and original and attested photocopies of mark sheets/ certificates in support of their academic qualifications. The mode of interview (Offline/ online) will be informed to the shortlisted candidates via the email id provided in the application form.
6. Applicants in employment (private, government or any other organization) are required to submit a “No Objection Certificate” from the employer at the time of interview.
7. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
