The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).
Applications are invited from eligible and interested candidates for the following purely temporary positions under ST & DoP sponsored Project No. GAP-3138, CSIR Mission Mode Project No. MMP-025201 and CSIR HCP Project No. HCP-0101, tenable at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu
Senior-PAT [01 Position]
Essential Qualification(s) : Masters Degree in Biological Sciences/ Microbiology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Life Sciences or Bachelors Degree in Biochemical Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent and 3 years’ experience in Research & Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science & Technology Organizations and Scientific Activities and Services; OR Masters/Integrated Masters in Biotechnology/ Biochemical Engineering or Technology from a recognised University; OR Doctoral Degree in Biological Sciences/ Microbiology/Biotechnology from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable : Experience in basic microbiological methods, isolation and maintenance of micro-organisms/fermentation etc. Experience in process optimization as evident by publications will be given preference.
Upper Age Limit : 40 years
Monthly Emoluments : Rs. 42,000/- + HRA
Project Title : Centre for Marine Therapeutics (CMT) (GAP-3138)
PAT [01 Position]
Essential Qualification(s) : Masters Degree in Biological Sciences / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Life Science / Agriculture Sciences or Bachelors Degree in Biochemical Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent..
Desirable : Experience in Agricultural Sciences/Plant- microbe interaction/Bio- formulation related work.
Upper Age Limit : 35 years
Monthly Emoluments : (a) Rs. 31,000/- + HRA for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ ICAR/ ICMR NET incl. Lecturership/Assistant Professorship or GATE OR those who have qualified National Level Examination conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/ DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/ Institutions. (b) Rs. 25,000/- + HRA for those who do not fall under (a) above.
Project Title : Fermentation scale up and technology development of lead industrial enzymes for Biofuel, Food, Feed, Agriculture and Vaccine applications. (MMP- 025201)

Essential Qualification(s) : Masters Degree in Biological Sciences/Chemical Sciences/Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/Life Science or Bachelors Degree in Biochemical Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable : Experience in Science Communication/Dissemination /Science Education/ Demonstration of basic science experiments and content writing.
Upper Age Limit : 35 years
Monthly Emoluments : (a) Rs. 31,000/- + HRA for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ ICAR/ ICMR NET incl. Project Title : CSIR JIGYASA 2.0 Programme with concept of Virtual Laboratory Integrated (HCP- 0101)
Important Instructions :
1. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the respective projects. The engagements shall be initially for a period of one year or till the project duration, whichever is earlier. The engagements shall be extendable on yearly basis subject to performance review and project duration. The duration of the project GAP-3138 is up to 04.03.2028, MMP-025201 is up to 31.03.2026 and HCP-0101 is up to 31.03.2026.
2. The total period of engagement of any project personnel under one project and/or combination of different projects, either in the same laboratory and/or different laboratories of CSIR, cumulatively taken together shall not exceed 6 years. However, the project personnel shall be allowed to continue beyond 6 years only in case of contract/consultancy/sponsored projects funded by Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Industries, Start-ups and individual entrepreneurs, that are of 12 months or less duration. In such an event, the total period of engagement of any project personnel under one project and/or combination of different projects, either in the same laboratory and/or different laboratories of CSIR, cumulatively taken together shall not exceed 7 years. 3. Age will be reckoned as on the date of the Interview. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per GOI/CSIR Instructions. Candidates belonging to these categories should send the certificates in the presribed format issued by the appropriate authority as per the latest instructions issued on the subject.
4. Age relaxation for Widows, Divorced Women, and Women Judicially separated from Husbands who have not remarried since, as per GOI/ CSIR provisions.
5. The filled-in Google Form should be submitted by or before 14th September 2024 (Saturday) up to 05:00 PM. Google/Application Forms submitted after the scheduled date and time shall not be entertained for the interview and summarily rejected.
6. Only eligible candidates shall be accessed for the online interview. The list of eligible candidates and the date for the interview will be displayed on the CSIR-IIIM Website, iiim.res.in, by the evening of 18th September 2024 (Wednesday). Eligible/shortlisted candidates shall attend the online interview on MS Teams.
7. In case a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may re-visit the screening criteria and shortlist the candidates for interview in proportion to the available vacancies.
8. Candidate has the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
9. In case the final certificates reflect CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades, the candidate should convert the same into an equivalent percentage as per the approved formula of the University in the Google Form, and a copy of such conversion must be attached along with the google form.
10. To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfil the eligibility criteria and possess the degrees/mark sheets in the subjects above should apply for the interview.
11. Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents, including eligibility qualification, DOB, caste, and age relaxation certificate, will be verified; if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall stand cancelled.
12. Candidates currently engaged in any project at the Institute must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) before applying for any new vacancy. Applications/candidature/selection of such candidates will only be considered if the NOC has been issued by the office.
