Recruitment as Project Research Scientist at ICMR for Life sciences and Bioinformatics

Various positions applications are invited for the ICMR-funded research project titled “Development and Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Improved Take-home Foods in Combination with Behaviour Change Intervention to Improve Nutritional Status. in Children in Selected Districts of Six States of India: A Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial (The NECCTAR trial)” under Dr. R. Balamurugan, Chief Investigator at the Department of Biochemistry, AIIMS Bhubaneswar. 

Post: Project Research Scientist-II (Non-medical)

Essential Qualification: PhD in Lifesciences/Bioinformatics with minimum 5-year experience in Multiomics analysis including both wet lab and Bioinformatics knowledge 
1) familiarity with functional genomic (WGS, RNA Sequencing, Metatranscriptomics, Single-cell sequencing) and/or metagenomic data 
2) Proficiency in one or more scripting languages appropriate for scalable data analysis 
3) ability to communicate scientific material to the conference and other collaborators; 
4) Proven record of scientific advances as a first author to high impact factor publications. 
Desirable qualification: Minimum 4 years’ experience with PhD in any branch of Life Sciences/Bioinformatics experience with Genome wet lab works and good knowledge of handling large datasets (human genetics- microbiome research (MGWAS), Sound knowledge of AI/MLNN analysis, and overall lab management.
Age Limit: 40 Years
Salary: Rs. 67000+9% HRA

Terms and conditions 
1. The project appointees will initially be appointed for 1 Year. Based on their work progress and performance, their appointments may be extended. 
2. These are tenure vacancies under the funded project and are not employment on the AIIMS Bhubaneswar payroll. Employment will be automatically terminated upon completion of the project and there is no liability for permanent employment on AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, or Principal Investigator. Also, the candidates have no right to claim permanent employment based on this job.
3. Selected candidates may have to undergo training at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.
4. All other terms and conditions will be regulated by the guidelines as issued by AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
