The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage.
Post : Junior research fellow (JRF)
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for an Extramural (funded by ANRF) research project entitled “Novel neuro-vascular organoids to understand the neuropathogenesis of non-polio enteroviruses” at Department of Virology at PGIMER, Chandigarh on a tenure basis.
Essential qualification : a) Masters in Virology / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Bioinformatics / Life Sciences / Genetics / Stem cell from a recognised institution with first class aggregate b) Scholars who are selected through national eligibility Tests-CSIR-UGC, NET, including lectureship (Assistant Professorship), GATE or any National level examination conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, USER, etc Desirable: a) Prior experience in molecular, and cell culture work will be preferred.
Upper age limit (in Years) : Upto 35 years*
Age relaxation as per GOI rules
Emoluments per month : Rs.37000 + 16% HRA
Note :
1) The candidate for the Junior research fellow (JRF) will be shortlisted based on eligibility criteria and a written test will be conducted for the screening purpose. The top 5 candidates will be called for an interview on the same day.
2) Age relaxation for women/OBC (non-creamy)/SC/ST will be given as per GOI rules.
3) The authority reserves the right to change/cancel the advertisement/selection process due to administrative issues
The terms & conditions for the posts are as follows :
1. The project duration is of three years but initially the engagement of the individual in the post will be on a temporary basis upto 31.03.2025. The same will be extended depending on the extension of the project from the funding agency and satisfactory performance of the candidate as assessed from time to time.
2. The appointment can be terminated with one-month notice from either side without assigning any reason.
3. Since the post is purely temporary, the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments under PG1MER, Chandigarh.
4. Benefits of provided funds, CCA Leave, Travel Concession, Medical Claim etc. are not applicable.
5. Persons already in regular time scale service under any Government Department Organization are not eligible to apply.
6. Eligibility list and the date of interview/written test will be uploaded on PGI Website within one week from the last date of receipt of applications. No individual intimation will be given for the written test/interview. Candidates are advised to check the institute website regularly. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the same.
7. The candidate will be expected to join within 15 days from the date of issue of appointment letter.
