Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) a Public Sector Undertaking of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, and Government of India has been entrusted the responsibility of implementing this Program. It will house the Program Management Unit (PMU) that would work as an operational and functional arm to oversee and monitor program implementation.

Consolidated Remuneration : The consolidated fee for Associate Consultant shall be Rs.75,000/- Per month.
Duration : The engagement is contractual initially for a period of one year and extendable based on performance and need of Department.
Job Description : BIRAC has setup 95 Bioincubation centres in the country. This is an expanding Incubation network that facilitates Biotech Startups and plays a critical role for the Innovation ecosystem. The consultant would support and work with Incubation team.
Reporting System : The Consultant shall report to in-charge Incubation.
Essential Qualifications :
M.Sc. / M. Tech/ 4-year Bachelors professional degree program in Life Sciences / Bio-medical sciences / Pharmacy / any other allied Biotechnology areas from a recognized institute.
Desirable Qualifications : A Ph.D or equivalent in life sciences, biological sciences or allied areas.
Experience : Between 3 to 10 years, preferably 2-3 years’ experience in entrepreneurship development/ incubation activities in a public or private organization.
Age Limit : Maximum 45 years as on closing date of vacancy.

Key Responsibilities
• Contribute towards identification and operationalization of New incubators.
• Coordinate with different departments (Technical, Legal, IP, Finance, etc.) within BIRAC for timely disbursement of funds and their proper utilization in accordance to prescribed guidelines.
• Monitor the progress of the Incubation centres for timely completion of milestones.
• Organise Site Visits for technical due diligence of the proposals along with the area experts.
• Work with Incubation team and stakeholders involved in S&T incubation especially biotech to understand & identify ecosystem gaps and growth opportunities.
• Assist Incubation Incharge in organizing stakeholder events.
• Contribute to team’s objectives and targets through seamless collaboration. Adhere to internal and external compliance responsibilities in a timely manner.
• Understand team objectives and cooperate and collaborate with others to achieve them.
• Domestic Travel will be involved.
