Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) was established in the year 1989 as an autonomous institute under the administrative control of Govt. of Odisha. In 2002, it was taken over by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. The Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee dedicated the institute to the nation in July 2003. Institute of Life Sciences has a broad vision of carrying out high-quality multidisciplinary research in the area of life sciences.
Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from the Indian Nationals to join in the following project positions.
Project Title : DBT-BIRAC project Identification and validation of potential drug candidates against COVID-19- associated lung fibrosis using clinically relevant in vitro and in vivo models
Project Investigator : Dr. S. Senapati
Project Associate - I (01 Position)
Remuneration : Rs. 31,000/- + 16% HRA
Eligibility : Candidates having M.Sc. / M.Tech / M.Pharm. / M.V.Sc. or equivalent qualification in Life Sciences or allied subjects (Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Microbiology, etc.) with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (relaxation will be given as per GOI guideline). Preference will be given to national-level entrance test (NET/GATE/GPAT) qualified candidates. For non-NET/GATE candidates, the fellowship would be applicable as per DST guidelines.
Age Limit : 35 years as on 08.11.2023. An age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India rules
Laboratory Technician (01 Position)
Remuneration : Rs. 20,000/- + 16% HRA
Eligibility : B.Sc. / 3 years Diploma in Engineering Technology. The applicant should have at least 1 year of experience and knowledge in a reputed organization.
Desirable : Experience of working in animal breeding, rearing, tissue processing and staining etc.
Age Limit : 35 years as on 08.11.2023. An age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India rules.

Incomplete applications and applications without the above mentioned documents will be rejected.
This position is purely temporary and coterminous with the project. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The decision of the Director regarding the selection of candidates will be final and no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
