The journey of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), popularly known as Pusa Institute, began in 1905 at Pusa (Bihar) with the generous grant of 30,000 pounds from an American philanthropist, Mr. Henry Phipps. The institute was then known as Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) which functioned with five departments, namely Agriculture, Cattle Breeding, Chemistry, Economic Botany and Mycology. Bacteriology unit was added in 1907.  The name of ARI was changed to Imperial Institute of Agricultural Research in 1911 and, in 1919 it was renamed as Imperial Agricultural Research Institute. 

A walk-in-interview will be held at Division of Plant Physiology, ICAR-IARI New Delhi to fill the temporary positions in the funded projects purely on contractual basis

Senior Research Fellow

CSIR Project: ‘Association between candidate genes and traits governing phosphorus use efficiency in wheat’; Duration- till June 2022)

Emoluments : Rs. 28,000/- plus 30% HRA pm (Pre-revised salary; will be revised as per CSIR OM 6/Fellowship (ENH)/2k19/EMR-I dtd.7thJune 2019)

Qualification(s) and Experience : 
Essential:
1) First class Master in Science degree in Agriculture (Crop Physiology /Genetics / Agronomy), Biotechnology / Botany / Life Sciences (plant science) from UGC recognized University.
2) Two years research experience post Master’s degree as evident from published papers in standard referred journals and experience certificate.
3) Desirable: Experience in working with field crops, handling instruments like root imaging, tissue nutrient analysis; data analysis and interpretation, report writing.

Junior Research Fellow

DBT-NER Project: "Candidate gene association mapping for tolerance to iron toxicity and low phosphorus stress in rice"; Project duration-till September 2022

Emoluments : Rs. 31,000/- plus 24% HRA per month for two years and Rs. 35,000 plus 24% HRA pm in third year.

Qualification(s) and Experience :
Essential:
First class Master in Science degree in Agriculture (Crop Physiology / Genetics /Agronomy), Biotechnology / Botany (Plant Physiology) / Life Sciences (plant science) from UGC recognized University.

Desirable: Experience in working with field crops, hydroponics, data analysis and interpretation, report writing.

Terms and condition:
i. Age limit : Maximum age is 32 years for SRF and 28 years for JRF (age relaxation of five years for SC/ST & women and three years for OBC)
ii. The posts are purely temporary and will be filled on contractual basis till the termination of the project subject to satisfactory performance.
iii. The candidate shall not claim regular appointment at this Institute, as the post is co-terminus with the project.
iv. The candidates will have to compulsorily bring the filled in application form (as per the format annexed), all the original certificates from matriculation onwards, date of birth certificate, NET/equivalent certificate, degree certificate either original or provisional and one set of the self-attested photocopies of all the required certificates from matriculation onwards and an attested copy of recent passport size photograph pasted onto the application form. Proof of experience and publications also need to be submitted.
v. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
vi. Only the candidates meeting essential qualifications would be interviewed.
vii. Concealing of facts or canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification or termination of such candidates.
viii. The candidates are required to submit the application at the time of interview as per the format annexed along with the declaration.

Reporting time for interview: 9:00-10.00 AM at Division of Plant Physiology. Candidates reporting after 10.30 AM for verification will not be entertained.
