Recruitment Notification for Ph.D, M.Pharm, MSc Candidates as Project Positions at NIPER

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research, Guwahati (NIPER-G) is an autonomous institute of National importance and the first national pharma institute in NE India set up by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India by an act of parliament, to impart high quality Education & Research in the area of Pharmaceutical Sciences. 

The Institute intends to fill the following Project positions through Online / Physical interviews for the “Centre of Excellence on Phytopharmaceuticals & Herbal Products” sponsored by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Govt. of India by PRIP scheme with a project duration of 5 years.

Project scientist I (Non-medical) 
Fellowship : Rs. 56000/- + 20% HRA 
No of post : 1 (One) position
Post Code : PS-01 (Central Animal Facility)
Qualifications and Experience : Essential: PhD in Pharmaceutical/Biological Sciences/equivalent with first-class post-graduation in Pharmacology & Toxicology. The candidate must have at least one research publication in SCI-indexed Journals. Desirable: Candidates should have experience in in vitro cell culture application in drug screening, animal handling and animal experimentations for screening of natural products in various disease models in small animals along with experience in GLP toxicity studies. Preference will be given to the candidate who is having industrial experience especially on GLP toxicity studies.

Qualifications and Experience : Essential: Ph.D. in Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Pharmacology / Life sciences. The candidate must have at least one research publication in SCI-indexed Journals. 
Desirable : 
• Experience in microbiology testing and assay development. 
• Experience in cell-based assay design and in-vivo disease models. 
• Experiences in western blotting, DNA/RNA isolation, real-time PCR, Flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy evidenced by PhD thesis..

Qualifications and Experience : 
Essential : PhD in Chemistry (organic/natural products/medicinal/pharmaceutical chemistry) with minimum 60 % marks in postgraduate degree in Chemistry (organic/natural products/medicinal/pharmaceutical chemistry). The candidate must have at least one research publication in SCI-indexed Journals. 
Desirable : Experience in natural product extraction, isolation and purification, working in herbal industries, experience in large scale extraction in GMP & GLP facilities.. Candidates having knowledge in preparation of SoP and regulatory norms in drug discovery specially for development of cGMP facility / NABL, will be given preference.

Qualifications and Experience : 
Essential : Essential: PhD in chemistry (organic/natural products/medicinal/pharmaceutical chemistry)/biological sciences with minimum 60 % marks in postgraduate degree. The candidate must have at least one research publication in SCI-indexed Journals. Desirable : Experience in natural product extraction, isolation and characterization by using spectroscopic techniques like NMR, LCMS etc. Hands on experience for operation and analysis of HPLC and different chromatographic instruments. Candidates having knowledge in regulatory norms in drug discovery (phytopharmaceuticals / herbal drugs) specially for development of products as per CDSCO DCGI or AYUSH norms will be given preference

Qualifications and Experience : 
Essential : Essential: Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Analytical Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Analysis with first class Post- Graduation in M.Sc. (Analytical Chemistry). /M. Pharm (Pharmaceutical Analysis or quality assurance) with 60% marks. The candidate must have at least one research publication in SCI-indexed Journals. 
Desirable : 
• Candidates should have experience in natural product isolation and characterization using various analytical techniques like NMR, Mass spectrometry, and other spectroscopic techniques. 
• Research experience in the area of reference standard development, identification and quantification of plant metabolites using HPLC, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, ICP-MS and LC-QTOF. 
• Practical exposure in purification using preparative and flash chromatography. 
• Candidate should have adequate exposure in scale up along with AQbD for bioactive marker purification. 
• Candidate should be able to do stability assessments of bioactive extracts, AYUSH products/phytopharmaceuticals.  
• Should have understanding and experience of bioanalysis and pharmacokinetics.

Qualifications and Experience : 
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Technology (Formulations)/Pharmaceutics/Industrial Pharmacy with M.Pharm/M.S.(Pharm.) in Pharmaceutical Technology (Formulations)/Pharmaceutics/Industry Pharmacy. At least one research paper in SCI indexed journal. 
Desirable Qualifications : 1. Experience in herbal/phytopharmaceutical industries. 
2. Operating knowledge on tablet machine, granulating machines, capsule filling machine, fluid bed processor, strip packaging machine and liquid filling machine.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) 
Fellowship : Rs. 37,000/- + 20% HRA

Qualifications and Experience :  Essential: The candidate must have a M.S./M.Pharm. degree in Pharmacology & Toxicology from a PCI/AICTE/UGC/NAAC recognized/ accredited University/Central Autonomous Institutes with 60% marks or above. The candidate must have cleared GPAT/GATE/CSIR-NET or any National entrance test exam conducted by any Central Govt. agency at the time of the interview/ selection process.

Qualifications and Experience :  Essential: Postgraduate degree (M.S./M.Pharm./M.Sc.) in chemistry/medicinal chemistry/ natural products/pharmaceutical chemistry/ herbal technology with minimum 60 % marks. GPAT/GATE/CSIR-NET or any National entrance test exam conducted by any central Govt. agency is essential for candidates with a master’s degree. 
Desirable : Experience in natural product extraction, working in herbal industries, experience in large scale extraction in GMP & GLP facilities. Candidates having knowledge in regulatory norms in drug discovery specially for development of cGMP facility / NABL, different chromatography techniques (TLC, HPLC etc.), LCMS and NMR will be given preference.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Post Code : JRF-04 (Department of Medicinal Chemistry)
Qualifications and Experience :  Essential: Postgraduate degree (M.S./M.Pharm./M.Sc.) in Medicinal Chemistry, or Natural Products, or Pharmaceutical Chemistry or Equivalent or with minimum 60 % marks. GPAT/GATE/CSIR-NET or any National entrance test exam conducted by any central Govt. agency is essential for candidates with a master’s degree. Desirable: The candidate will be involved in cutting-edge research in Phytopharmaceuticals especially related to dataset development, maintenance, and Natural product- inspired drug discovery. The candidate should have basic knowledge of plant taxonomy, and chemical constituents of medicinal plants. The selected candidate will be required to perform database development and management and apply AI/ML methods to natural product-inspired and medicinal chemistry concept-based drug design. Exposure to basic molecular modeling and drug design techniques like docking, quantum chemical calculations, MD simulations, QSAR, and MMPA is also desirable. Basic to moderate level knowledge of chemoinformatics database, web server, web tool development, and management. Basic to moderate level of programming knowledge in bash, python, html, C++, programming awareness about ChatGPT and similar tools. The last stage of the project will also involve organic and semi-synthesis activities, thus basic knowledge of organic, and analytical chemistry concepts is also desirable. Due to the multidisciplinary nature of the project, it is desirable that the candidate display a keen interest in modeling as well as experimental work and should have good oral, written, communication, and presentation skills. Also, the ability to work independently and in a team of scholars as per project requirements is desirable.

Post Code :  JRF-05 (Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis)
Qualifications and Experience : Essential : M. Pharm/MS (Pharm) (Pharmaceutical Analysis/Quality Assurance)/MSc in analytical chemistry from a PCI/AICTE/UGC/NAAC recognized/ accredited University/Central Autonomous Institutes with 60% marks or above. The candidate must have cleared GPAT/GATE/CSIR-NET or any National entrance test exam conducted by any Central Govt. agency at the last date of application. 
Desirable : 
• Candidates should have hands-on experience in HPLC analytical and bioanalytical method development, validation of analytical procedures, prep HPLC/flash chromatography 
• Should have understanding and experience of bioanalysis and pharmacokinetics. 
• Candidate should be able to do stability assessments of bioactive extracts, AYUSH products/phytopharmaceuticals.

Assistant Grade- II (Procurement)

Qualifications and Experience : Essential : Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) with minimum 50% marks or its equivalent grade, consistently good academic record, and minimum 2 (two) years of post-qualification relevant experience. 
OR 
Master’s Degree (10+2+3+2) with a minimum of 50% marks or its equivalent grade, consistently good academic record, and relevant post-qualification experience in office work in a reputed organisation/ government department. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Experience in reputed institutes like NIPERS, IIMs, IITs, IISER, etc., will be preferred.

2. The interviews will be conducted in a hybrid mode (both online and physical interviews) 
3. Interested candidates are invited to apply using the prescribed format only, available on the website (niperguwahati.ac.in) from 14.11.2024 to 28.11.2024. It is mandatory to fill the application online and no other form of application will be entertained. Candidates are requested to arrange the soft copies of all the required documents before filling the application. 
4. Candidates should read carefully the requisite minimum essential qualifications, age and eligibility, experience criteria etc. laid down in the advertisement before applying for the above post. Since all the applications will be screened on the basis of data submitted by the candidate in the online application form, the candidates must satisfy themselves of the suitability for the position to which they are applying. If at any stage during the recruitment and selection process, it is found that candidates have furnished false or wrong information, their candidature will be rejected.

8. Fulfilment of qualifications and experience is an essential requirement. As stated, the Institute is free to set the benchmark and only call the eligible candidates for the online interview. Further, NIPER Guwahati also reserves the right NOT to fill any of the post advertised, in the event or exigency so decided.

10. In case any dispute arises on account of interpretation of clauses in any version of this Advertisement other than English, the English version available on the NIPER-G Website shall prevail. 
11. CANVASSING IN ANY FORM MAY LEAD TO CANCELLATION OF THE CANDIDATURE. 
12. All appointments shall be on contract for one Year and may be extended further based on the performance of the candidate as well as availability of the funds and tenure of the project (maximum period of 5 years). The appointments are against the temporary project positions and will not continue in any circumstances beyond the duration of the said project. Any subsequent contract in the project or another project will be fresh appointment.
The appointment in the outside funded project does not give project staff any claim whatsoever for appointment/regularization against any Institute post. Candidates who got selected for JRF position may given option for registering PhD at NIPER subject to the recommendation by the respective faculty and subsequent qualification in the NIPER JEE exam. 
13. Age will be calculated as on the last date of application i.e., 28.11.2024. 
14. List of the Shortlisted candidates will be displayed on the Institute website. 
15. Candidates are suggested to attend the interview physically. In-case if any candidates are unable to attend physically, such candidates may attend online interview, the link for the same will be sent to the shortlisted candidates individually, a day before the interview.
