The journey of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), popularly known as Pusa Institute, began in 1905 at Pusa with the generous grant of 30,000 pounds from an American philanthropist, Mr. Henry Phipps. The institute was then known as Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) which functioned with five departments, namely Agriculture, Cattle Breeding, Chemistry, Economic Botany and Mycology. Bacteriology unit was added in 1907.
Post : Young Professional- II (YP-II)
Applications are invited for the recruitment of one (01) Young Professional -II (YP-II) under approved externally funded ICAR project “All India Network Project on Emerging Pests (AINP-EP)-Sub component-1 (Plant Virus)- Identification and evolution of emerging plant viruses infecting economically important fruits, vegetables and legumes crops, diagnostics, interaction with hosts and management” (Project Code 12-198-B).
Emoluments fixed per month : Rs. 42,000/- (Consolidated)
Qualification : Essential : Master’s degree in Plant Pathology / Virology / Molecular Biology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Botany / Life Sciences with 4 / 5 years of Bachelor's degree. Candidates having Post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years Bachelor's degree and 2 years Master's degree should have NET/GATE qualifications and 2 years of research experience as mentioned in OM No. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD dated 13th July, 2015, OM No. Agril. Edn. 6/27/2014-HRD 9th October, 2015 of the Council and OM SR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated 30th January, 2019.
Desirable : (i) Research experience in Plant Virology/Molecular Plant Pathology/ Molecular Biology & Biotechnology with knowledge of Computer and bioinformatics, NGS data analysis having high quality publications in SCI journal (ii) Higher degree in relevant subject and research experience
Terms & Conditions
1. Maximum age 45 years (age relaxation of five years for SC/ST/Women and three years for OBC) for Young Professional-II.
2. The above post is purely temporary, time bound and co-terminus with the project. Appointment will be initially for one year and further extension on yearly basis based on the progress and fund availability.
3. The interview of eligible candidates will be held according to the schedule given above.
4. The candidates should compulsorily bring two copies of duly filled application form in the prescribed proforma only (Given in Annexure-I & II), two passport size photographs and one set of self-attested photocopies of their certificates/ mark-sheets/ experience proof etc. Applicants must bring with them original documents at the time of interview for verification.
5. The candidate should bring bio-data, NOC from employer, if employed at the time of Interview.
6. Concealing of facts or canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification or termination of such candidates.
7. The candidates are required to submit the application at the time of interview as per the format annexed along with the declaration.
8. The candidate intending to attend the interview, if any of his/her near or distant relative is an employee of the ICAR/IARI, have to declare his/her name, designation, nature of duties, relationship in advance in writing to the IARI, RS Pune. If on the date of interview such declaration is furnished and found that his relative is an employee of ICAR/IARI, such candidates will not be allowed for interview.
9. There is no provision of re-employment.
10. No TA/DA will be paid to any candidate for attending the interview.
11. The selected candidate shall have no right/claim for regular appointment at this Institute, as the engagement is co-terminus with the Project.
12. The Director, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi reserves the right to cancel/postpone the interview or cancel specific posts without assigning any reason thereof.
13. The Director, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi reserves the right to terminate the contract of job as mentioned above, even before the completion of the project for which no appeal thereof shall be entertained.
14. The decision of the competent authority will be final and binding in all respects.
15. All eligible candidates are advised to be present at least 30 minutes before scheduled time on the date of interview for completing necessary formalities.
