The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).
Eligible, interested and highly motivated candidates are invited to apply for the following purely temporary positions under the ICMR-funded project entitled “Preclinical investigations on the utility of non-psychoactive cannabinoids and their mixtures in diabetic neuropathic pain conditions (GAP-3178)” tenable at CSIR - Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu.
Project Technical Support-III [01 Position]
[intake from 21.05.25 onwards]
Essential Qualifications : M.Pharm. (Pharmacology) / M.S / M.Sc. in Zoology or Biochemistry or Biotechnology from a recognized university or equivalent. or B.Sc. (with Biology and chemistry) with 03 years of research experience in cell culture techniques and/or laboratory animal handling.
Desirable : i) Research experience in mammalian cell culture, ELISA and / or
ii) Experience in animal experimentation using rodents.
Project Technical Support-III [01 Position]
Essential Qualifications : B.Sc. with Chemistry as one subject and three years’ research experience in Natural Product Chemistry / Organic Synthesis or M.Pharm. (Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Natural Products) / M.Sc. in Chemistry / Organic Chemistry / Natural Products Chemistry from a recognized university or equivalent.
Desirable : i) Research experience in Natural Products Chemistry / Organic Synthesis
ii) Extraction & Isolation techniques (chromatography purification, HPLC, etc) and characterization using spectroscopy (NMR, Mass, etc)
Upper Age Limit : 35 years
Monthly Emoluments : Rs. 28,000/- + 20% HRA
Important Instructions
1. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement shall be initially for a period of ONE YEAR or till the project duration, whichever is earlier. The engagement shall be extendable on yearly basis subject to performance review and project duration. The duration of the project is up to 20.01.2028.
2. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR – Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 6 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-IIIM, Jammu.
3. Age will be reckoned as on the date of the Interview. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per GOI/CSIR Instructions. Candidates belonging to these categories should send the certificates in the prescribed format issued by the appropriate authority as per the latest instructions issued on the subject.
4. Age relaxation for Widows, Divorced Women, and Women Judicially separated from Husbands who have not remarried since, as per GOI/ CSIR provisions.
5. The filled-in Google Form should be submitted by or before 10th March 2025 (Monday) up to 12:30 PM. Google/Application Forms submitted after the scheduled date and time shall not be entertained for the interview and summarily rejected.
6. Only eligible candidates shall be accessed for the interview. The list of eligible candidates and the date for the interview will be displayed on the CSIR-IIIM Website, iiim.res.in, by the evening on 13th March 2025 (Thursday). Eligible/shortlisted candidates shall attend the interview on MS Teams.
7. All shortlisted candidates will be required to send scanned copies of their educational and experience certificates, testimonials, etc., by 05:30 PM on or before 16th March 2025 (Sunday), through email at sreedhar@iiim.ac.in for Position Code 1 and dryknalli@gmail.com for Position Code 2. Candidates must clearly mention their Name, Position Code and Advt No. in the subject line. 8. In case a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may re-visit the screening criteria and shortlist the candidates for interview in proportion to the available vacancies.
9. Candidate has the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
10. In case the final certificates reflect CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades, the candidate should convert the same into an equivalent percentage as per the approved formula of the University in the Google Form, and a copy of such conversion must be attached along with the Google form.
11. To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfil the eligibility criteria and possess the degrees/mark sheets in the subjects above should apply for the interview.
12. Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents, including eligibility qualification, DOB, caste, and age relaxation certificate, will be verified; if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall stand cancelled.
13. Candidates currently engaged in any project at the Institute must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) before applying for any new vacancy. Applications/candidature/selection of such candidates will only be considered if the NOC has been issued by the office.
