NIPER Ahmedabad was initiated with three specializations Biotechnology, Natural Products and Pharmaceutics and over the period of time three more specializations Pharmaceutical Analysis, Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology and Toxicology were added in 2010. Subsequently in 2011, to cater the needs of Medical device industry in India, another feather was added to the cap of NIPER Ahmedabad in the form of specialization in Medical Devices.

Applications are invited from the eligible and suitable Indian nationals for the position of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) in ICMR funded project entitled “Investigation of novel squaramide based IL-8R inhibitors and bio-instructive peptido-hydrogels for simultaneous management of metastatic oral squamous cell carcinomas and oral mucositis” on purely contractual basis tenable at Department of Medicinal Chemistry, NIPER- Ahmedabad. Tenure of the position is will be co-terminus with the project.

Project Title : Investigation of novel squaramide based IL-8R inhibitors and bio- instructive peptido-hydrogels for simultaneous management of metastatic oral squamous cell carcinomas and oral mucositis

Emoluments : Rs. 56,000/- + HRA (15,120/-) = Rs. 71, 120/- initial appointment will be for one year which may be further extended to three years subjected to the project duration and performance. The positions will co-terminate with the project.
Essential Qualification : A. Project Research Scientist -I (Non-Medical) 01 (Chemical Science, Unreserved) The candidate must have first class in post graduate degree with Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry/ Medicinal/ Pharmaceutical/ Process Chemistry
B. At least 2 publications as first author in journals of repute
C. Desirable Essential Qualification : The candidate with experience in synthesis of heterocycles/ small molecules following multi-step synthesis, purification/isolation techniques using column chromatography, combi-flash, HPLC, crystallization etc. will be preferred. Should be well versed with characterization techniques including chromatography, spectroscopy (UV, IR, NMR, HRMS etc.). Knowledge in in-silico design and SAR study and Peptide chemistry will be preferred.
D. Project Research Scientist -I (Non-Medical) 01 (Biological Science, Unreserved) The candidate must have first class in post graduate degree with Ph.D. in Lifesciences/ Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Biological sciences.
E. At least 2 publications as first author in journals of repute
Desirable Essential Qualification: The candidate must have experience in various techniques in molecular biology (Cell culture, rt-QPCR, Western-blot, Flow cytometry, RNA extraction, Plasmid transfection, Imaging etc). Should have fair knowledge in molecular mechanism elucidation, transcriptome data analysis, RNA sequencing etc. Knowledge on cancer biology and Inflammation will be preferred.
