IGIMS was established on 19th November 1983, as an autonomous organisation on the pattern of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. The objective was to provide super specialty medical facilities in Bihar. On 27th January 1983 Cabinet approved the completion of this massive project in 4 phases within a span of six (6) years. According to the decision of State Government, 130.20 Acres of land was transferred to IGIMS.
Post : Project Research Scientist-I
A walk-in-interview of eligible Indian citizen for the post of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) on contractual basis in a project entitled ‘‘Epigenetic modulation and molecular mechanism involved in development of breast cancer A case-control study” funded by ICMR, New Delhi to Dr. Md. Margoob Ahmad, Scientist-II, (Principal Investigator), in the Department of Pharmacology, IGIMS, Patna, will be held on April 01 (Monday), 2024 at 11.00 AM in the Director’s board room, IGIMS, Patna.
Maximum Age limit in year : 35(Age Relaxation will be as per ICMR Guidelines)
Salary : Rs 56,000+HRA as per ICMR guidelines
Nature of employment : Contractual.
Duration of employment : Till 28.02.2025 extendable, which will be dependent on the candidate performance and budget grant from the funding agency.

Essential Qualification
First Class Post graduate degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry or any other relevant branches of Life Sciences from recognized university.
Or
Second Class Post graduate degree including the integrated PG degree with Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry or any other relevant branches of Life Sciences.
Desirable :
1. Preference will be given to NET/GATE qualified candidate. Candidate should have hands on the molecular Biology assay and at least one year experience.
2. Knowledge of computer, BLAST, Primer and Probe designing.
Job description :
• Participating in research projects sanctioned.
• Completion of project work assigned by PI, Co-PI.
• Ensuring the proper sample collection and its transportation.
• Writing manuscript, annual report and new innovation research project.
Terms and Conditions
1. The selection will not be an employment on IGIMS, Patna pay-roll. Employment will automatically terminate upon completion of the project from the day of joining of duties and there is no liability for permanent employment on IGIMS, Patna or on Principal investigator. Also, the candidates have no right to claim permanent employment based on this job.
2. The contract can however be extended to a maximum of three years depending on the candidate’s performance and budget grant from the funding agency.
3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Interested candidates may appear for walk-in interview. Candidates should bring duly filled application form (As per the prescribed Performa) and all original certificates of educational qualifications, copies of research publications and experience certificate, identity proof, along with two photographs and a set of self-attested photocopies of all certificates and relevant documents at the time of interview.
