Applications are invited from suitable candidates (Indian Citizens) for one position of Project Research Scientist - I (Non-Medical) in an ICMR sponsored research project entitled, “Analysis of tumor characteristics and therapeutic strategies for β-hCG positive Breast Cancer Patients from Kerala using microfluidic organ-on-a-chip culture device” in the laboratory of Dr. Priya Srinivas at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram. - 695011.
Essential Qualifications : First-class Master’s degree, including the integrated Masters degrees in Life Sciences including Biotechnology/ Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biophysics / Molecular Biology, Nano biotechnology/ Zoology from a recognized University. OR Second-class post-graduate degree, including the integrated PG degrees with PhD in the above-mentioned subjects from a recognized University. OR First-class engineering graduate degree of four years in Biotechnology / Nano biotechnology /Nano science / from a recognized University. Candidates must have technical expertise (at least in part) required for the project, such as microfluidics, cell culture, microscopy, molecular biology techniques.
Desirable Qualifications : The candidate should be highly motivated to do basic research in biology and academically excellent.
Age : Below 35 years as on March 14, 2024. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.
Emolument : Rs.56,000/- + 18% HRA per month for candidates having essential qualifications (as per ICMR norms).
Duration : Three years or till termination of the project whichever is earlier.
Selection Process
1. Applications should be submitted online.
2. Candidates who are currently working in Government firms should send applications through proper channel.
3. Last date for receiving completed applications is March 14, 2024
4. If a candidate wishes to apply for different positions, separate applications should be submitted for each position. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.
Applications which are not in the prescribed format will summarily be rejected.
Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply and will be called for interview. No TA/ DA will be given for appearing in the interview in person. Selection of suitable candidates will be made based on qualifications and performance in the selection interview.
